PDX BONES: Part Deuce, November 7th (first wednesday) at Jace Gace

There is an evite. I don't know how to link to it. You don't have to RSVP, but can if you want. Just go to evite and search PDX Bones and you'll find it. Wait, just tried and I am wrong. Well, if you aren't on that 300+ invite list, then here is your invite and info from the invite:
PDX-BONES, Jace Gace, Portland, Oregon Domino/Dominoes Club, 97214

November 7
Jace Gace
SE 21st and Belmont
Portland, Oregon 97214

This is the second in PDX PIPELINE's (pdxpipeline.com) series of Domino Clubs/Socials. They occur on the first Wednesday of every month. Many cities and peoples around the world regularly play in domino clubs and tournaments. This is the only known one in Portland.

We will have people playing all 5s, Mexican Train, and Texas 42. We have many sets of dominoes, but you can bring your own–hopefully not marked :)

The event is FREE. We give away prizes based on no certain criteria except randomness.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW HOW TO PLAY, we will show.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLAY, there will still be art, music, beer, waffles, and video happening…and just socializing

At the last event, we taught several people. At this one, there will be many people who can teach and play. It is a club, not a tournament.

Jace Gace will also be projecting various film clips, domino scores (I've lost a couple times), music videos, and possibly myself playing the Dominologist–beat him once.  :)

Daily Stank Image Bank: "Circus Me Around" by Performance Works NorthWest

Well, I can't tell you that I am able to fully describe this performance. One quote (very positive) was “a flock of birds with OCD“. All I know is that I am not necessarily Mr. Modern Dance and I had a great time. These pics are not the best–I am no pro photographer–but there are about 75 of them and a you can get a decent thought about what to expect.

It also gives a good idea of what it is like to watch “a flock of birds with OCD”. I definitely reccomend seeing this show before it ends this weekend.

The WaMu Difference: I Found Out the Hard Way

*JC Edit: From Kristin Wall at KWDesigns, check out her site– Also, b/c of this same treatment, I left Wamu for the lovely Albina Community Bank over a year ago. You can read that here.*

WaMu has this lovely statement on The WaMu Difference section of their website. Until recently, I was a WaMu customer. As a customer I certainly didn't feel any "value" or was I "listened to". In fact, I was ignored and was treated with no value.

Earlier this month, I called & spoke with a WaMu representative about a $592 fraudulent charge that had been posted to my checking acct. I filed a dispute against the merchant and was told it would take approx. 5 business days for the matter to be resolved. In the meantime, I was concerned I would incur insufficient fund fees. The WaMu rep. informed me I would be able to file a "separate" dispute once this dispute cleared. Essentially, rack up fees, then we'll credit your acct? Pretty wacked.

We Are All Going To Die!! Part 2,314.1 (from traveling alone in winter darkness without safety strobe lights)

Not so fast, Tri-met is going to save us!

From Trimet–you can subscribe to email updates and get these wonderful tips right here

Riding the bus after dark? (why yes I do, what's the problem?)
Be
seen and be safe. (awesome! afraid I might die for a moment)

If you are traveling alone between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., you can ask your bus operator to stop anywhere along your route-not just at designated stops. You can increase your visibility and prevent accidental pass-ups by alerting your bus operator with a safety strobe or small flashlight. Go to trimet.org

We Are All Going To Die!! Part 2,314.1 (from traveling alone in winter darkness without safety strobe lights)
I really hope that I start seeing “safety strobes” (what is that and where do I get it?) and small flashlights constantly through the darkness this winter creating a constant Portland light show; which is why I had to put this up–fantastic! Wait, I just googled it and you can get your personalized safety strobe buttons here!

Get ready for flashing PDX PIPELINE buttons this winter people.
