I saw this on the Colbert Show the other night…and was very proud to once again be featured on Colbert’s show as hippies and commies :)

Portland: a communist, hippie stronghold?

So says faux newsman Stephen Colbert, who’s hawking his new book, “I Am America (And So Can You!)”

The book, he says in a clip from a recent episode of “The Colbert Report,” “even made waves in hippie stronghold Portland, Oregon, where Powell’s Books hosted a release party.”

Colbert pans to an image of beer-drinking, Portland-dwelling Colbert fans lined up to buy the book at Powell’s. Colbert takes a good look at the cash register and notices that Powell’s is selling the book at a discount.

“Look, I know Portland is a communist but … Powell’s Books, you owe me eight bucks. Cash money.”
