Daily Stank Image Bank: Malice at the Holiday Ale Festival

Malice at the Holiday Ale Festival, Portland, Oregon

Update: Interview & Photos With Malice: Let Her Entertain You

I went to the Holiday Ale Festival yesterday with the Amplify-Interactive crew. There were a lot of people and a crazy amount of good beers. I had one in particular called Scaldis Noel that was 12%. That was some tasty but rough stuff (C-block didn't fare so well for the experience of having one after 3 or 4 other beers).

Anyway, it is still going on–and you too might see Portland's most famous adult dancer (also model, actress and Rock video essential), Malice, out there.

Nov 30: DJ Pretty Please/Mayor of Belmont at Beulahland

Simon Goetz, Aalto Lounge, Portland, Oregon, DJ Pretty Please, The Mayor Of Belmont

Tonight, the Mayor Belmont travels to the distant land of just inside NE Portland. He will be spinning at Beulahland on NE 28th and Davis. That is possibly a mile from Belmont on the North Side of Burnside.

Be sure to catch Pretty Please on his NE tour.

Daily Stank Image Bank: SPINNAFACE at the Goodfoot Lounge

SpinnaFace at the Goodfoot Lounge with Manny/DJ Magneto, Portland, Oregon, 97214

This if from Manny's/DJ Magneto first Friday show at the Goodfoot Lounge in October (the 5th). I didn't know who this guy was, Spinnaface, but recently ran accross his mypsace/website/videos. It is pretty funny stuff and some of the beats/tracks are good as well.

Also, first Friday is coming quickly–which means Magneto (possibly Spinnaface?) will be out at the Goodfoot Lounge. I'll see you there.

Dec 1: Various One Year Anniversary Featuring "the mighty H.A.S. soundsystem"

I've known Monkeytek a long time now and been to a couple of Various shows, one of which was at Branx. It is a fun show for sure with some music that I hadn't heard before but highly enjoyed. I don't know how to describe it, but after the jump there is links to mixes and a description by Renegade magazine.

Oh yeah, and the H.A.S. system is “the system” I've been told.

From Portland Mercury's Myspace: "Attention All Bands"

This looks like it will be a good resource for Portland Musicians. I also like the swipe at Myspace. Again, if you are on the Myspace you should really look into moving to MyFace. Unless, of course, you are a big fan of spam and a loading time that makes this site look like Speedy Gonzales.

Hello there! Two quick questions for you:

1. Do know about the Portland Mercury's Musicians Directory website? 2. Do you know that it's awesome?

Here's the scoop: Bands & DJs can enter their own descriptions, upload photos & Mp3s, promote shows, and keep their fan base growing and up-to-date. It is searchable, easy to use, and FREE.

Once you have a listing, we'll be able to link to your music from Mercury music reviews and the club calendar. Our music writers will be checking the site out regularly as well.

It's like MySpace, only local, easy to navigate, and NOT owned by a right-wing nutjob.

Let us know if you have any questions and also how posting goes.

I first learned about it during a short stint at an ad agency in Portland, Ore., where I was asked to come up with a few ideas to help promote the game…Read More at Slate.com
