Daily Stank Image Bank: Destroy Hot Mess at The Tube

Hot Mess, The Tube, 18 NW 3rd, Portland, OR 97209

After going to the Destroy Store for Charlie Alan Kraft's First Friday show, we went down to the Tube for Hot Mess. It was a good time, and there were a lot of people. It was packed by 11:45 or so when we ducked out to venture back to the Eastside for buckets of bourbon served by Chin Jen at the Chin Yen.

Daily Stank Image Bank: Destroy Pabst

Jules/The Mixtress, Drunken Noodles and I went to the Charlie Alan Kraft art opening at the Destroy Store on Friday. The Mixtress took a lot of pics of the fun times to be had there as well as the very cool art by Charlie.

Of course, my favorite part was when owner Adam Brush came with the Pabst and the oh-so-sweet Destroy coozies.

Check out these pictures of the event. Mr. Charlie Alan Kraft's art is still up at the store until the next first friday.

Lisa Nelson

A few months ago, Tuning Score workshop leader Karen Nelson had the brilliant idea to invite Lisa Nelson to Portland! Now, with the support of a RACC Project Grant, we are happy to announce that Performance Works will host a 10-day residency with this dance-maker, improvisational performer, videographer, and collaborative artist who has been exploring the role of the senses in the performance and observation of movement since the early 70s. Ballot Measure 9: Film Screening and Reception
Friday, January 11th, 2008, 7pm (cocktail reception 6:30pm), Q Center, 69 SE Taylor
The Sundance-winning feature Ballot Measure 9 is the chilling chronicle of the historic battle we fought here in Oregon in 1992 and the unprecedented level of anti-gay violence the campaign rhetoric provoked across the state. Winner of jury and audience awards internationally, Ballot Measure 9 shocked movie-goers nationwide when it was released in 1995, and it continues to resonate for a new audience as “defense of marriage” reinvigorates the right-wing. In celebration of the coming re-release on DVD, and to reconnect with those who worked to defeat the measure, please join our special guests Mayor Tom Potter, Read the rest of this entry »
