So many burgers, so little time. Help us eat them all already and join us today at Portland Hamburgers. It's free, it's easy, it's fun, and and keeps a nice round look on you.

*Hmmm, I don't think it is a coincidence that this is our Portland MS walk team name. I guess I have an idea who's eating at My Father's Place. You can sponsor (or possibly join) our team by clicking here. **Also, nice Rose City Rollers Shirt there, Pickles & Ammo.

Daily Stank Image Bank: "Blood on The Max"

C-Block sent this iPhone picture over to me. Perhaps it was “Some Guy” upset about the Fairless Square “fare increase disguised as a solution”. Come on “Some Guy”, our fair transportation system threatened by blood….“Like THAT's going to happen!”

tri-met, portland oregon max,

"I snapped this photo this morning. It looked like freshly-caked blood. This wasn't ketchup nor was it salsa — this was the B-to-the-L-to-the-double-O-D.

How do I know this? ‘Cos C-Block knows all."

Yes, the C-block has a way with words…

Gang of Four to play Sasquatch, and another new demo

Smooth Flow (the in-crowd will get that)

A blogger at the Seattle Post Intelligencer suggests that Gang of Four is playing at this year's Sasquatch Festival – sounds like fun, I go every year anyway so why not play? Meanwhile here's a MP3 of a new cut from last week's studio sessions – no vocals from Jon yet but Andy, Mark and I are having fun….

Jan 23 – 26: Dr Demento at Reed | Can You Stop A War With Music? | Free

Dr Demento, Reed College, Portland, Oregon

Like a lot of people, I grew up listening to Dr. D's Sunday shows syndicated across the U.S. (even to the “Heartland”, where I was). Come to find out, Dr. Demento went to Reed and is doing a FREE lecture series this week. From his site:

ATTENTION PACIFIC NORTHWEST DEMENTITES…

Dr. Demento will be presenting several programs in person in January at his alma mater, Reed College in Portland, OR.

Wednesday, January 23: CAN YOU STOP A WAR WITH MUSIC? Protest songs in the 20th and 21st centuries.

Thursday, January 24: CENSORSHIP: How it affects the music you hear (and don't hear) on radio and in other media. How government and corporate interests restrict the musical choices of radio programmers (and why a little censorship is not always a bad thing).

Friday, January 25: COMEDY MUSIC IN THE 21st CENTURY – We will survey the latest trends in funny music, and use our computer to hear and watch together the current under-the-radar hits on MySpace, YouTube, etc. (Advance suggestions welcomed – use the “Request A Song” feature on www.drdemento.com and mention that your suggestion is for the Reed College program)

Saturday, January 26: FESTIVAL OF DEMENTIA – Dr. D's famous program of hits from the show on audio and video — “Fish Heads,” “Bambi Meets Godzilla” and the best of Weird Al, Spike Jones, and lots more Heroes of Dementia.

All programs are open to the public, and will be held at Vollum Lecture Hall on the Reed College campus. Use the main entrance off Woodstock Blvd. The lecture hall is straight ahead; the road to the parking lot splits off to the right just after entering the campus.

Admission Free for all events!
