I just saw this message from Beulahland that a sign-up date has been announced. Really, what better event is there in August than the Adult Soap Box Derby? There were at least a thousand people up on Mount Tabor last year for this event, and there will likely be more this year. This picture is from the after party at Plan B Bar (where there were 200+ people as well). From Beulahland:

They will be held at Beulahland 118 NE 28th Ave.
You must be present to sign up.
You must pay the 100$ fee.

Yes! Just checked with Zach – the Derby will be on August 16th, starting at 10am.
He’s working to fix the web site problem. Hope some DNS pirate hasn’t snagged their domain name!
We’re thinking about coming from Boise to the Derby but would like more info. Should we bring a shade tent? Are coolers allowed? Do we need to buy tickets? Should we stake out a place the night before? Any details would be helpful…
I don’t think you will want or need a shade tent. It’s rather shady there.
You can bring coolers.
You won’t need to (and legally can’t) stake out a place the night before.
