Art of Politics 2008 has been invited to give a sneak preview of some of the top 30 (winning Art of Politics) posters at the one-day Portland viewing of the Declaration of Independence (seriously, the real thing) at the Rose Garden Arena. Here is a little blurb from the official press release (we won’t have all 30 mounted, we will have 12, but we will show all of them via computer at the viewing area):
Portland’s June 21 event will begin at 10:00 a.m. with local celebrities and dignitaries reading the Declaration of Independence outside the Rose Garden Arena. Visitors will then be able to enter the Rose Garden and make their way up to the Lexus Club Level, where the historical document will be on display until 5:00 p.m. In addition, 30 pieces of artwork from the winners of the Art of Politics competition will be displayed in the rotunda. Various local entertainers will perform live throughout the day, and people who are not yet registered to vote will be able to do so at an on-site Declare Yourself booth. The first 200 people to the one-day event will receive a free commemorative gift.
