July 31: Rooftop Films at Hotel deLuxe | Rainy States | "Top Down"

I went to one of these rooftop screenings a couple years back, and it is a lot of fun. From what I see now, they have greatly expanded the offerings (both in food/drink and now music!). This picture is from the email I received. I took a couple pics myself. Together, they prove it is a difficult task to take pics at this event. If you have one better, let me know.

JULY 31 THUR 8 PM
HOT RODS TO HELL
US 1967
DIRECTOR: JOHN BRAHM
“Call them punks…call them animals…but you better get out of their way!” Impotent Dad (Dana Andrews) decides on a career change that takes his emasculating, supportive wife (Jeanne Crain), their jailbait daughter, and pre-pubescent son on a cross-country road trip to a new beginning as moteliers in California. But said daughter turns the eyes and pistons of a gang of hot rod hoodlums bent on terrorizing the family and neutering its patriarch. (92 mins.)

MUSIC: THE RAINY STATES

The evenings begin at 8pm with live local music and refreshments. The screenings start at dusk-around 9pm depending on the light. Top Down is sponsored by the Hotel deLuxe, Willamette Week, ZipCar, 94/7FM Alternative Portland, KPSU Portland's College Radio, TAZO and Sierra Nevada Brewing.
