Info:

On Saturday August 16th only at 7:45 at the Hollywood Theatre, the Grindhouse Film Festival presents the legendary revenge film ROLLING THUNDER!

ROLLING THUNDER (1977) Written by Paul Schrader around the same time he wrote TAXI DRIVER, and starring William Devane as Major Charles Rane, who returns home from a long tortuous stay in a Vietnamese POW camp.  Tommy Lee Jones co-stars as a shattered fellow POW survivor who finds it impossible to readjust to civilian life.  When a crew of thugs invade Rane's home, mangle his hand in a garbage disposal, and kill his only son, Rane begins down a focused path of revenge.  With a sharpened hook for a hand and a duffle bag full of shotguns, he crosses the border to Mexico with the only purpose he has left in his life.  Methodical and nihilistic, this movie has never been released on video, and is being presented for this one time screening from an extremely rare 35mm print!

Plus: 35mm 70's revenge trailers!  For more information, advance tickets, and to watch the trailer for ROLLING THUNDER: www.grindhousefilmfest.com  The Grindhouse Film Festival is an independent production, not associated with the Hollywood Theatre.

Do you have the events you list punched into a public Google Calendar? I end up hand entering most of these into my own calendar just so I can get a sms about it later, but if you have a calendar I can just subscribe to that would be all the handier.

Also, why is there so much going on this weekend? Some kind of Portland holiday?

There isn’t a public Google calender. I’ll look into it.

I don’t know why there is so much going on. There is actually a lot more than what I’ve put up. Sometimes, things just come together like that I guess.
