If you are going out to the Alberta Street Fair on Saturday, take some of your old shoes by Pie Footwear and recycle them. Oh, and if you are a fan of the Teva shoes, it might be like heaven. I don’t know if there is an official hacky-sack circle or not, but where there’s Tevas….

Pie Footwear in partnership will host a Shoe Donation & Recycling Drive during the 11th annual Alberta Street Fair on Saturday, September 13th. Shoes collected will be donated to Soles4Souls and distributed on a national and international level to people in need. Soles4Souls participated in donating over 1 million pairs of shoes to help aid the relief efforts for the Asian Tsunami and the Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
For each shoe collected Teva will donate $1 to The Waterkeeper Alliance. The Waterkeeper Alliance is a grassroots advocacy organization with 177 local Waterkeeper programs and growing. They are dedicated to preserving and protecting your water from polluters.
Shoes will be collected in front of Pie Footwear on 29th & Alberta the day of the fair. Shoes can also be dropped off prior to the event at Albina Community Bank’s MLK Branch or at Pie Footwear.
Event will include Teva in store product promotions at Pie Footwear and a Teva product give away raffle.

Volunteers wanted . Fixing computers for charities. The Era is looking for
volunteers to help fix computers and electronic for donation to charity. ERA
collects computers, laptops, monitors, lcds, servers and electronics for
donation and recycling. Volunteers can earn a free computer for spending
time at ERA and helping out. Volunteers can earn a free laptop for spending
time at ERA and helping.
