A message from DK Comet:
The Mid-Century Modern League (based here in Portland) is a nonprofit volunteer organization, founded in 2007 committed to bringing greater recognition, celebration and preservation of the unique mid-century modern architecture, signage, businesses and history within Oregon.
On October 23rd, we are bringing Mid-Century Historian, pop-culture humorist, book author & NPR contributor, Charles Phoenix to town to perform a comedy slide show.
He’s very well known in Los Angeles & Las Vegas for his funny slide show performances using found slides from the 50s, 60s & 70s.
We are trying to introduce him to Portlanders in our effort to educate the public about our special landmarks.
“I’ll actually be projecting the original vintage slides. This is the real thing not Power Point.” says Charles. “And of course I’ll be showing some amazing vintage slides of Oregon in the 50s and 60s!”
