Bridgetown Comedy: Brent Weinbach | Berbati's Pan | January 4

Guess what people? After Wednesday, it will be 2009 and the show will go on. Specifically, it will go on this Sunday at Berbati's.

Until Wednesday, here are Portland New Year's Eve Events

From Andy of Bridgetown Comedy:
Brent Weinbach at Bridgetown Comedy, PortlandI'd like to thank the brave few who wouldn't let Snowpocalypse 2008 keep them from seeing the Tig Notaro/Natasha Leggero show last weekend.  It was a great time in spite of all the last minute changes, and I'm glad a bunch of you were able to make it.

The good news for those who missed Tig and Natasha is that Bridgetown has another show coming up this Sunday that's just as solidly hilarious.  San Francisco's Brent Weinbach is headlining — Brent was awarded the 2007 Andy Kaufman Award at the HBO Comedy Festival, has appeared at the Coachella and Bumbershoot festivals as well as Just For Laughs in Montreal, and is the creator and star of the Super Deluxe web series “Weinbach in Wonderland.”

Those of you who caught the last Comedians of Comedy Tour when they came through Portland also remember him as one of the highlights of that show.  Brent's a veteran of SF Sketchfest and the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, he's appeared on Comedy Central's “Live at Gotham” and he was a finalist in the 2008 San Francisco Comedy Competition.

Oregon's own Lonnie Bruhn and Ron Funches will also be rockin' the show on Sunday — Lonnie's the hilarious, raunchy founder of the Cripple X Comedy Tour, and Ron wowed the crowds at the first Bridgetown Comedy Festival (check out his set here).

Here's what the press has to say about Brent Weinbach:

“…obscenely, disturbingly brilliant.” -L.A. Weekly”weird, scary, hilarious” -Time Out NY

“…a borderline-offensive yukster for a post-multicultural era.” -San Francisco Bay Guardian
