(Click here for info on the BEST Portland Restaurants, Bars, Food, Drinks &Â More)
It's food week on PDX Pipeline. On Tuesday, we answered the question of where to find the best Indian food in Portland. We are also looking for the best Pizza in Portland today on twitter. If you've lived in Portland for any amount of time, you know that saying “The best Thai restaurant in Portland” will nearly always lead to an argument. Because of this, I always say “the second best Thai restaurant in Portland is“. It's clean living people.
Anyway, there are many, many answers from twitter and Facebook of where the best Thai food in Portland can be found. I didn't count them all, but at least 40 replies/suggestions and 20 or so different restaurants. The top thai restaurants in Portland (or most recommended) seem to be Baan Thai by PSU, E san, and my personal favorite– Pad Thai Kitchen on SE Belmont. There are several mentioned below that I haven't tried yet though, so it's time for a Thai expedition.
What is the best Thai food (Restuarants) in Portland? 25+ replies after the break…
From Facebook (My Facebook friends are quite knowledgeable. Also, Facebook really copied twitter didn't they? These pastes from both places look almost identical)

Wow! No mention of Singha in Lake Grove? Consistently excellent and the only Thai place that does Massaman curry the right (traditional) way.
I forgot to mention in my twitter reply that I always order Pad Thai from Thai Orchid XXX spicy – it’s awesome!
Wanted to expound upon my Twitter reply about Beau Thai–not only is the food excellent but the staff is wonderful! If you’re feeling under the weather their chicken noodle soup will cure what ails you….
…Pok Pok is different comparing to others. Khao Soi Kai noodle soup is a must have. It’s so tasty my mouth is watering talking about it! The Fish sauce chicken wings and the flank stake dish are definitely worth trying.
Chaba Thai is defintly worth trying as well.
Thai Fresh on 84th and Division is a secret gem with great service and thee best Thai food in Portland. Hands down.
If you want “The BEST Thai food in town. Go to Lemongrass 1705 NE Couch There is only one server and she cooks your food to order! So exspect a wait. It will be well worth it! Most places when I ask for extra hot. (here a 2 is extra hot on a scale of 1 to 20!) the favors of the food are drown out by the extra chiles. Not here when Shelly adds spice it creates even more flavor! I don’t know how she does it but I havent found anyone else in Portland with this skill. So good! Might I suggest the Garlic and Basil chicken, green curry or ohhhhh so good…. try the yellow curry too! If she hasn’t already sold out do start with the garden rolls.
So much flavor in her food it’s amazing!!! Im sure you won’t be dissappointed! ~Ebbie
