When I was a kid we didn’t have this all
this new-fangled, fancy-pants, RealD Coraline nonsense. 3-D meant one eye red, one eye blue and that’s the way we LIKED it!
Horror classic the Creature from the Black Lagoon returns in it’s original 3-D glory to the Hollywood Theater starting Friday. What better way to celebrate your country’s independence than watching the first movie ever to employ 3-D technology… underwater! If you’ve missed it over the past fifty years, get in out of the heat this weekend and see Gill Man do what he does best: swim around and look creepy.
Looking for something to do afterwards? According to reports, Ducketts Public House has a Creature from the Black Lagoon pinball machine. And a pretty wicked happy hour too.
Or for those with a more historical bend: the Oregon Historical Society is offering $2 off general admission to see 1 Brain + 2 Eyes = 3D and The Amazing World of Claymation with your ticket stub.
Anybody know any good place for fish and chips in Hollywood?
WHAT: Screening of the Creature from the Black Lagoon in 3-D
WHEN: Friday, July 3rd, PM
WHERE: Hollywood Theater
4122 NE Sandy Blvd
Portland, OR
