Portland Trail Blazers Recap: Paul Millsap Is Rich!

Paul Millsap blazers

Restricted free agent Paul Millsap has singed the Blazer's offer sheet. The Utah Jazz now have 7 days to match the offer.

Jason Quick outlines the specifics of the deal here.

Ross Siler, Tony Jones and Ronnie Turner of The Salt Lake Tribune collaborated on the topic:

Should they match the offer to Millsap while keeping Boozer, the Jazz's payroll would stand at more than $81 million, some $11 million over the NBA's tax threshold.

Storyteller of Blazers Edge reports that regardless of what team Millsap suits up for in October, he's due to receive a check for $10,268,750 this July and another $1,556,250 over the course of the season.

For a guy that made the NBA minimum last season ($797,581), a 10 million dollar month is pretty good. Pretttyyyyy, pretttyyyyy, pretttyyyyy good.

Update: NBA_Rumors_News on Twitter has reported that Paul Millsap's agent does not believe the Utah will match Portland's offer. Read the rest of this entry »
