Google Maps/Street View Camera Bike

It appears that Google is bike trail mapping Seattle, but why not here in the best bike city in America? Has anyone seen on of these in Portland? Does anyone have more info about it? Buehler?

I really don’t know anything more about it than it rolled past me while I was skating in West Seattle. I hauled ass to catch up with him and snap that shot with my iPhone. He was going a pretty steady speed the whole time.
