August is the final month of one of Portland's best free activities–Concerts in the Parks. We have listed this month's concerts below and pay special attention to the August 4th National Night Out concert series at many parks around Portland.
All the concerts are free and family-friendly.
This picture is from 2007 at the first Mt Tabor concert of the season. Mount Tabor has an ideal location for watching the concerts. It's warm, but has great shading so you are not getting scorched and your food and drink (beer! wine!) doesn't get too hot in your pic-i-nic basket.

Yes! A Kenton Park concert was rained out, and the rain date for Caña Son, a hot Cuban band, is Monday, August 31, 6 – 8 pm (Kenton Park: N Delaware & N Kilpatrick)
