This weekend, Film Action Oregon and The Hollywood Theatre are breaking ground with their screening of the film Weinder Takes All, for the first annual “Summer's End Dog Fest.”
Events for this festival include: A screening of Shane MacDougall's Weiner Takes All- A fun, family-friendly “dogumentary” about the world of competitive Dachshund racing; live Weiner dog races; face painting, balloon animals, crafts and other family-friendly activities; $1 hot dogs and a hot dog/veggie dog eating contest; beer garden; doggie dress-up photo booth; raffle for pup related prizes; and a vendor booths with animal-related treats and services.
The goal of this event? To build community, raise funds and awareness for both Film Action Oregon & The Hollywood Theater, and of course to bring together Portland dog lovers!
All proceeds will benefit the Hollywood Theatre and all well-behaved pups are welcome!
Have a Dachshund you'd like to enter in the races? You can still register by e-mailing organizers justen@filmaction.org. Please title your e-mail “Weiner Dog Races” and include the name of you and your pup in the e-mail.

what time do the dog races start? what time does the movie start?

David – I have e-mailed the organizers and should know soon. Their website does not include a complete itinerary – we apologize for not having that information up sooner. I will make sure to e-mail personally as well as include information here when we receive it.

Hello everyone!
I just heard back from Justen, one of the organizers. The races will begin at 6pm this evening, and the film
will begin at 7:20. All other events will be continuous fom 5-9pm, as far as I know. They have advertised that dogs are welcome throughout the event.
