Wanderlust is honored to host a teeming bazaar of circus and song from the greatest shows on Earth

The focal music performance by The Yard Dogs, sewn throughout with their own vaudevillian vignettes; will be preceded by an immersive atmosphere of acrobats, jugglers, and dancers showing off their talents in and around the audience, close enough to touch; and the entire affair will culminate in a rhapsodous dance party with post-world party rocker Sidecar Tommy.

What better way to elevate the senses at the close of this storied and overstuffed Summer of 2009? Come together, beloved spirit cousins, and break a sweat together one more time before the leaves fall.

The Yard Dogs Road Show is a hobo cabaret, a living patchwork of
vaudeville and rock and roll. In the enchanting land of stage show
entertainment theirs is both pleasant and formidable terrain. They
require a sensitivity to the subtle and the absurd. They lead the
modern hobohemian on a visual and sonic journey through part of
history that may or may not have existed — followed by an ambitious
return to the emotional challenges of our punch-drunk contemporary
world. It's a true story on stage: sword swallowers, dancing dolls,
fire eaters and sunset hobo poetry – all animated by the live sounds
of the Yard Dogs cartoon heavy band. Yard Dogs Road Show is pure
visual and sonic voodoo.

Born from the saloon vaudeville that toured the Wild West in the late
1800's and slammed into the underworld of modern American road
culture. The Yard Dogs create a timeless space for the union of
ancient theatrical alchemy and modern pop culture.

SIDECAR TOMMY is one of 3 producers responsible for BEATS ANTIQUE. As a producer of downtempo hip hop for 12 years, sidecar tommy is adept at creating original audio for the dance floor, commercial use, movies, soundtracks for dancers, vocalists, pod casts, etc… SIDECAR TOMMY fuses electronic sounds and acoustic/natural sounds, culminating in a collage of music that hits hard with original beats.

The ways of the Circus are older than the nightclubs, older than the
banks, older than the cities. These most ancient of performative
traditions have always existed just slightly to the left of the
Mundane World. Now, at the first flickering of the 21st Century, our
madcap clan is once again shedding its skin and remaking itself in the
funhouse mirror image of The Second Great Depression.

To aid and abet this latest glorious rebirth, Wanderlust has
established itself as the premiere circus operation in The City of
Roses. Helmed by Noah Mickens and Nick “The Creature” Harbar, and
drawing from a roster of performers, designers and technicians from
all the greatest shows on Earth we will not rest until the whole of
the world has been entertained.

From the twenty-foot ceilings to the vintage interior design, The
Bossanova Ballroom and Supper Club is a dream location for Wanderlust.
Since December 2008, we've presented an an ongoing series of circus
and variety shows that have re-established The Bossanova as a
destination for Portland theatergoers, as well as the discerning
travelers who are just now discovering our beloved city.
