w/ THE DEVIN PHILLIPS BAND
Join us for an evening of high-energy, funk fueled instrumentals from one of the NW's most ridiculously talented bands. Led by New Orleans transplant and tenor/soprano sax man, Devin Phillips (The Headhunters, Delfeayo Marsalis, Los Hombres Calientes, Goodfoot All-Stars), The DPB explosively re-creates the progressive, psychedelic-laced, funk/jazz fusion of such artists as Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters, Quincy Jones, Bantu Village-era Blue Mitchell and the polyrhythmic thump and squeal of Miles' electric years.
Electric bass, drums, clavinet/rhodes and guitar keep the dance floor bouncing while the interplay of Devin's sax and the trumpet of Max Ribbler twist the melodics into new shapes and keep your intellect satisfied. Come get some.
