Mortified, the cult comedy sensation that's a smash hit in LA, NYC, D.C., San Francisco, Austin, Chicago & Boston returns to downtown Portland for their Two-Year Anniversary Show!  Also celebrating its tenth original show over the past two years, Mortified Portland returns for another all new, two-night performance November 20th & 21st at Someday Lounge.

Hailed locally by The Oregonian, Portland Monthly, and Willamette Week, and nationally by Newsweek, NBC's The Today Show, Entertainment Weekly and NPR's This American Life, Mortified stars everyday people reading aloud their most embarrassing, pathetic and private teenage diary entries, poems, love letters, lyrics and locker notes… in front of total strangers.  Witness "personal redemption through public humiliation" in a refreshing show that is equal parts comedic, cathartic and voyeuristic.  The largest and longest running project of its kind returns featuring a collection of Portland's bravest souls.

  2.   Jill Says:

    Hey-
I’d love to wallow in other people’s miserable embarrassment for a change.

  3.   Vana Says:

Oh man! I would love to go to this. Some friends of mine went last year and I missed out, they said it was fantastic!

I would be down to go either day.

    Thanks!

  4.   Rebekah Villon Says:

I’d like to win tickets because I still take my teen angst very seriously, and write long tortured prose about it, constantly updating my LiveJournal with this introspective monologue. Hopefully Mortified can give me the more comedic perspective I so desperately need.

  5.   Sloan Says:

I’d love to go on the 20th, because who doesn’t love cringing in a room full of cringing strangers?

  6.   Shelby Says:

Want! Free! Tickets! Mortified is awesome.

  8.   whitney streed Says:

i’d love to win tickets because i do stand-up comedy at open mics all the time, and it would be beautiful to see people on stage trying to be honest instead of trying to be funny for a change. plus someday lounge is great.

friday is the day for me. thanks!

  9.   HConn Says:

I want to go! Pick me!

  10.   Zach Says:

I’ve heard all the great stories about this show, I’d love to go on the 21st!

  11.   Ashley Says:

I frequently, albeit unintentionally, embarrass myself. Yes, I’m “that girl”. I would definitely appreciate being the laugher instead of the laughee, even once. Either day would be great!

  12.   christopher Says:

I want to go because I was just reading the fanzine I wrote in high school, and I’m finding it hard to believe anything could be more embarrassing than that.

Either day would work, with Saturday preferable.

  13.   Melissa Says:

I’d love tickets for Saturday. I saw the first Mortified show and would love to go again.

  14.   Michelle Says:

I went last year and had a blast, laughing so hard I almost peed my pants. I would love to take my boyfriend and hear more hilariously relatable stories! (Friday preferred!)

  15.   kristenpdx Says:

My boyfriend, who’s read some of my teenage poetry, suggested that I might want to do a reading of my own someday at Mortified. I’d like to see what it’s all about and how scary it might (or might not) be to share personal stories in front of a crowd. We’d love to go on Saturday night.

  16.   Carina Says:

I’d love to go because I’m hoping it would make all my angsty teenage prose and poetry less embarrassing. I’d take either day!

  17.   Rebekah Villon Says:

Also, I could attend either day, but would prefer Friday. Saturdays are for moping.

  18.   j Says:

True story: I grew up in a small college town where the only coffee shop eventually came to be called Sweet Eugene’s Sexist House of Loud Java and Embarrassing Displays of Self-Expression. Well, at least by me. And in order to hang out at the only coffee house, I endured MANY embarrassing displays of self-expression.

How is it that now, years later, I kinda miss it?

    Free tickets, please!

  19.   Katrina Joy Says:

I’d like to attend Mortified for a night of giggles and by proxy redemption courtesy of PDX Pipeline. Bring it!

  24.   Steve Says:

I NEED to go to this. My girlfriend just broke up with me and send a picture of my most intimate of areas to all of our mutual friends and a sad face emoticon below it. I think it implied that my junk made her sad.

    I need catharsis! Both nights!

  25.   mark holan Says:

The show reminds me of the “F* My Life” Website which causes me great belly laughs as I find humor in others misfortunes. I would love Nov 21 tix please

  26.   Amy Says:

I woke up this morning and saw you guys are offering Mortified tickets and I was thrilled until I realized I am too tired to come up with a witty comment to convince you why I deserve these tickets more than the others who have already made me laugh with their comments. The sad face under the picture of the guy’s junk ….if that’s true, he may need them more than me. However, I would love to go on Saturday!! I am financially challenged and LOVE Mortified shows! Thank you for your consideration.

  27.   Karen Says:

It would be an awesome change to see someone have fun with their teen-age memories.

  28.   Dave Hoffman Says:

A friend of mine from high school is visiting this weekend. This would be the perfect place to reminisce and commiserate over how awkward we were. We’d love to go on the 21st.

I’m too mortified to tell of my own teenage angst story, and living vicariously seems to work well for me in this situation.

    Please oh please pick me.

  31.   MsD Says:

Just like in junior high, I’m not good at following instructions. Either day works for me. Cheers!
