Gang-Themed Santacon on 82nd Street? | December 5th
December 2, 2009 — PDXPIPELINEI'm a little confused with why people might want to dress up as holiday gang members and walk around 82nd street. Then again, it is December and all this sun is driving people crazy perhaps. But that's just me, and if you want avoid the real Santacon and the North Portland Anticon, this might be for you.
*Note: Only the Cacophany Society has a real deal “Santacon”. If it is/was not clear, this is not a Santacon event even though they vaguely refer to it, are holding it on the same day as the Santacon (Caco site states Santacon on the 19th) & Anticon, and are obviously trying to build on it's name.

In a world full of millions of Santas and bars so crowded you can't get a drink, a new breed of holiday drunken joviality has been born. Meatball Mountain Adventures, a group known for wacky events that center around the imbibing of alcoholic beverages while in costume, is taking over Christmas!
We here at Meatball Mountain Adventures believe that Santa does not discriminate in any way and that he wants to spread the Christmas joy to everyone—even those who spend their days in a drug haze or making money in non-traditional and illegal pursuits. Why spend money in fancy shmancy downtown when you could be in SE?
Miracle on 82nd Street is a celebration of this abundant Santa love! Don't get it on ya! What you do what to get on ya, however, is a holiday inspired costume (not mandatory) that reflects the spirit of Portland's much beloved 82nd Avenue! Santa pimp? Elf gang member? Rudolph looking to score some crack? Yes, yes, and yes.
We are going to crawl down this majestic street, spending approximately 40 minutes at each venue. All stops have drinks, many have food, and a choice few have a police presence. Please remember to bring your ID, that cash is king, and a number of a good lawyer. Meatball Mountain does not take responsibility for your safety or actions and, in fact, will pretend we don't know you if you become mired down in some sort of… issue.
