Tonight: Axe-Wielding Pyscho Santa @ Hollywood Theater | Grindhouse

Tonight is Grindhouse Festival’s annual screening of “Silent Night, Deadly Night” and unlike last year, there is no snowpocalypse to mess things up.

From Grindhouse:

This Tuesday at 7:45 at the Hollywood Theatre, The Grindhouse Film Festival presents Portland’s greatest cinematic holiday tradition: the annual screening of SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT.  A 35mm print of the 1984 Christmas classic, plus, audience favorite horror trailers before the movie.

SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT (1984) Since his parents were killed by a man in a Santa suit, a child grows up with a hatred of Santa Claus.  Now, as a young man, he is forced by his boss at a toy store to dress up as jolly Saint Nick, and is finally pushed over the edge.

On Christmas Eve, he becomes an axe-wielding psycho Santa, out to punish all who are naughty.  Classic scenes include the sledding beheading, the toy store montage, the bloody box knife as a little girl’s Christmas present, and crazy Grandpa terrifying little Billy with his tales of a rampaging killer Santa Claus.
