First Thursday @ Everett Station Lofts, Portland, OregonPortland’s monthly First Thursday event is tonight with over 50 (probably 100) galleries having openings.

We have a very large list below thanks to Sequential Art Gallery (328 NW Broadway) & Rich Vail Mackin. They  compile an email called the  “[h]IT LIST” of events every month. You can join it by emailing them @ sequentialart @ gmail dot com. We have reproduced much of it below with permission.

This month at Sequential Art Gallery

Sequential Art Gallery is pleased to present the work of M. Lamkins. “The New Varsity” is the story of the rise and fall of a small local music venue, told through show posters and written clues. From the grand opening in January to the final, tragic end in December, viewers can explore the timeline and follow the ups and downs, the fights and fumbles, and the mystery behind the closed doors of this fictional house of music. “The New Varsity” opens First Thursday, March 4, 2010, from 6-10pm.

Mayor Sam Adams presents the return of First Thursday art events at City Hall:

Portland City Hall Atrium, 1221 SW 4th Ave
Refreshments provided by Storyteller Wine, Full Sail Brewing, and Artemis Foods.
Music entertainment includes Jim Boydston, Daryl Davis, and Steve Remington
