This Weekend: Goonies 25th Anniversary in Astoria

You might want to start planning your weekend immediately because (some of) the Goonies are having their 25th anniversary in Astoria this Weekend. Corey Feldman is going to be there and he apparently has a Pink Floyd type band that will be playing…can't miss that.

Friday to Monday, June 4 — 7, 2010

Goonies Concert

A Goonies themed concert at Warren Field, as seen in the opening of the film, with performances by:

Truth Movement — Corey Feldman's Pink Floyd inspired class rock band will start their 2010 summer tour here in Astoria.

The Ataris — Alternative band whose album in 2003 titled So Long, Astoria references their love of the film and a trip they took to Astoria to see the Goonies sites. Currently touring worldwide in support of their 6th album, The Graveyard of the Atlantic.

The Whiskey Rebellion — An acoustic, bluegrass band with YouTube hit "The Ballad of Chester Copperpot"

Troy's Bucket — A pop-punk band from Southern California named after a memorable scene in the Goonies

    What???? Corey Feldman is in a band??/ I’m a huge goonies fan and never knew this. I hope lots of fans go to this. It is going to be great. I might go on Sunday.
