From our partners at Saturday Market:
Dog Days of Summer
The hottest days of the year are just around the corner. Here at the Market we have just the thing for you and your pet.  From fountains to food and from treats to treasures, the Portland Saturday Market has what you are looking for to stay cool (and hip).
Fountains…
For the four-legged friend in your life, we have two fountains from which to
choose (plus plush green grass in Waterfront Park for chasing any number of toys). The Skidmore Fountain is Portland's oldest public work of art and is a wonderful place for your pup to get a drink of water. We also have the Bill Naito Legacy fountain in Waterfront Park. As Portland's newest water feature, this is a wonderful place for you and your hound to splash up a storm. Since this fountain is chlorinated please remember this is not the water for your dog to drink.
Food…
BBQ DOGS…One can't leave the Market without sampling something from our international food court. My Brother's Famous BBQÂ has been serving up the best in BBQ since 1979.
They also have snow cones for the little ones in the family.
SNOOK'S PET PRODUCTS (Booth #806)...If it is pet treats you are looking for then the Market has what you want. Snook's Pet products have been at the Market since 2001. These organic sweet potato dog chews are healthy and perfect for removing tarter build up on your dog's teeth.
Finds…
LARKSTUDIO (Booth#343)… www.dottiedracos.com
Treasures abound at the Market. Want to capture your pet's best expression; then Lark Studio is the place for you. Since 1994 Dottie has been doing custom paintings of your family's favorite friend. Don't have a pet of your own but, you're an animal lover then she has originals, reproductions, pendants and zipper pulls for you to choose from.
Visit the Portland Saturday Market every weekend March- Christmas Eve. Sat 10-5 and Sunday 11- 4:30

pdx market rocks!
i havent gone down there cause i need money to spend there 1st. thanks
The Saturday Market is the place you take friends, relatives and out of towners so they can grasp their mind around whats really goin down in Pdx. Keep it Local, Keep it Green, It it Movin’ and Keep It Pimpin.
Some of the best arts, crafts, food and entertainment have spawned from the original Saturday Market. It’s a great launch pad for local businesses. I’d enjoy 25 bones to put right back in to our community.
Portland Saturday Market represents quintessential Portland to me. When I first moved to this city back in 2001, PSM was my way of really connecting with the city. From their location, I was able to spoke out to get to know the rest of the city – it gives me a center. Portland Saturday Market interacted with all 5 senses giving me a starting point to understand this beautiful city I’ve grown to love. Without PSM, I feel like Portland loses its heart.
The Portland Saturday Market is a weekly tradition for us! I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning then biking to the Farmers Market, then over to the Saturday Market to shop, drink a Dead Guy and people watch. Always plenty of smiling Portlanders out and enjoying themselves. Good times, good people and great vendors.
Gift card or not, I know where I’ll be this Saturday!
Awe the Sat. Market! Where else can you buy frozen cheesecake on a stick, fruity bath soaps, and hand-knitted hats, while listening to folk/rock all in the beautiful Portland weather?
We love supporting the local organic growers and cheese makers.
Haven’t been to Saturday Market in years, would love a reason to head down there!
It’s a good place to buy things I don’t need and do some people watching. There is a lot of good people watching to be done. Thank you Saturday market for the free entertainment!
I want to win the $25 gift card to Saturday Market because of several reasons:
1) I work a non-profit job and therefore live on a non-profit salary- ANY free food is always a blessing!
2) I’ve lived in PDX for two years and have still not gone to a Saturday Market! This would give me the ultimate reason to go!
3) PDX Pipeline is pretty bad ass!
XXOO
frozen, chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick…
I would love to have a shopping spree at saturday market, I love supporting local art and haven’t been to the market in forever.
I want to buy $25 of elephant ears.
Ok, so I didnt get the brewers festival pack, or tickets to see the hold steady. Could I please have a gift card to the place I have been going for over 16 years????????I havent been since they moved it though just because the thought of them changing somethin that I have seen a certain way for years kind of bothers me.
I haven’t been to Saturday Market since they renovated the buildings down near Skidmore Fountain. I’d love to see how it all turned out.
There is a cute clothing booth I have always wanted to buy something from but I have cut back on spending money on eating out and clothes.
We love supporting the local art scene and want portraits of our pets
Enter me please!
Saturday market is always a great place to go on weekends! Love all the stuff most ppl would call trash turned into great pieces of art!
Yes please, I love the Farmers market! If I win I’m going to spend it all on baked goods!! So many tasty treats that I’ve been trying to fit in my budget!!
If you give me the $25 saturday market certificate, I will take miniature weiner dog Anya downt there to get something fun. Please help me help her… she really really likes the market. She’d tell you that herself, if she could talk. Since she can’t though you’ll have to take my word for it.
I heard it might be the last weekend to buy morels and I’ve been cooking them with fava beans every weekend for a while. I need to get my mushroom fix!!!
I’d love $25 to spend at the Saturday Market! Haven’t gone this year yet – my parents from the midwest will be in town and the three of us have a tight budget.. anything I can contribute to make their impression of Portland a bit more rad would be wonderful! Maybe I’d be able to treat them to something from Kathmandu to You (first time for Nepalese food!) and buy them a little something local to take back with them :)
I get my favorite olive oil there … it’s light and fresh. Haven’t been this year yet to restock.
Who doesn’t love the Market?? Yummy food, quirky clothes, great pottery and delicious soaps! It’s my go-to place for house warming gifts!
I just moved to a house and there is this woman who makes garden art that my boyfriend and I love. We don’t have the money to spend on her art though. Would love to win this gift card to use towards her booth.
Keepin it local in PDX – love helping to sustain a local economy and eat great food at the same time. Hit me!
This would give me a good excuse to buy more art there :)
We love the market and enjoy taking Anna Freud, our black lab therapy dog. :) I bet she’d love to sit for a portrait.
I’d love to buy garden gnomes of my family at the Saturday Market. The guy who makes them does a great job!
I would like to buy one of those cute hand made purses.
To be honest, I would just use this to eat and drink. Last time I was there my friends and I were kicked out of the food court for drunken hacky sacking. Lame.
I consider my parents friends, relatives, *and* out of towners – they will be visiting in Sept. and I plan to load them up with as much local flavor as I can afford. Another $25 for the Market would be swell!
just recently moved from Michigan and i want to get a Jaysan Art piece to hang on my walls!
Please Please Pleas… :) I love the Saturday market. I would buy a ton of yummy cart food and then some neat knick knacks for my house!
We are always there, spending money anyways… why not get a little kickback so that we can justify some bigger, long sought after purchases.
I would like the gift certificate to buy something sparkly for me. My daughter is 21 and in school. Whenever I seem to have a few extra dollars, they seem to still go for jeans, shoes, and underwear. Underwear is expensive! Then, there’s the food at Saturday Market. I could see myself eating most of the gift certificate and buying something sparkly too. At this point I envision myself with probably another $25 in art that I have to have and pay for, above and beyond the gift certificate. This is not an altruistic answer but an honest one, indeed. Thanks!
what?! i would get my grub on. i could probably make $25 last the rest of the summer. awesome!
I’m a broke-a$$ teacher with good intentions and a desire to support the local economy. A hand-engraved “TEACHER” sign would look pretty cool in my classroom too.
I love Saturday Market, and will probably go whether I have money or not just to see everything. But of course, money would be nice.
I love the diverse art pieces at the Saturday market and the variety of goods. It is great that so many artists are able to share their works with the public. I look forward to returning soon!
I LOVE the Saturday Market! I haven’t been in a couple years though because I was living in Corvallis, but now I’m back in the area and could use some extra money for the market, buy something funky and unique for my new house. :)
wow $25 bucks! awesome
I really want a spoon and fork chime from the crazy spoon guy!
I am a grad student studying the artisan economy and all the great things small, local, maker-culture businesses can do to strengthen our economy. Artisanship is the future! The success of the Saturday Market makes this quite apparent. I know there is a man who makes beautiful leather purses and sells them there…i want one! I was also hoping I might find a particular kind of butter dish I’ve been looking for.
If I am lucky, when I die, the place I am going will look something like PFM…maybe more consistently sunny.
I love markets and local artists, crafters, growers, makers and more. I love the joy of knowing where all my goods are coming from and many handmade! Items likes these are perfect gifts and one of a kind deals. So sad it can’t be a year round thing like the old markets I used to go to in Ca. PDX has it’s own unique flare that is unlike any other.
My husband’s birthday is in 19 days and I bet I could find something unique for him there!
I love the street performers and the food.
I want to win because I’m a broke grad student.
I have been to Saturday Market three times this summer and have taken three different friends to spend money. You give me $25 gift card and I will spend another $25 of my own to help support local business/arts : )
I love the market and would buy some bicycle jewelry.
The Saturday Market is great! I especially like going there on Sunday :D
I’ve lived in Portland for over two years and have never been to Saturday market! I haven’t spent money on myself since before I was pregnant with my now 4 month old son–I’d love to buy something for myself for a change!
My dog needs some more sweet potato chews! :-)
good food + good art = me + saturday market
I want to get a new bag or a piece of jewelry for myself for my 25th birthday! :D
I just love to support local artists! And a $25 gift card would to a long way to helping me do that.
No matter how many times I go, I never tire of this wonderful piece of Portland… my wallet, on the other hand, might have a few objections.
I heart the farmers market!!!
What could be better than supporting local artists, showing off the best of Portland to my out of town guests, and procrastinating studying for my exams? Pick me!
Portland Saturday market has awesome food and cool shit to look at, and has the best people watching.
saturday, it’s a saturday…market. you’ve been gone too long, miss saturday market. i miss you’re food, crafts and charm. let’s get back together.
because it’s almost as good as the Eugene Sat Mkt !!
I have never bought anything at the Saturday Market, well I’ve only been there once, but I’m more likely to spend your money! :)
only way my wife will let me go ;o)
Doesn’t get any more Portland than the Saturday Market, I would love to take my daughter down there this weekend for her very first time… great food, arts, and of course people watching! Cool down in the fountain from the sun!! She’d love it! Saturday market is one of my favorite things about Portland!
Saturday Market is part of what makes Portland…. well, Portland! I love the chance to meet and interact with the artists. I like how you can have a great time in your hometown supporting local artisans and finding hunting for the perfect gift.
I would use this as “seed” money for my trip to the Saturday Market. Once I got there I would not be able to contain myself and I would spend oh so much more on all the of the fines wares available! Yeah Saturday Market!
This weekend will be our first wedding anniversary..and it would be fun to bike down to the Saturday Market and spend the day there!
My cat would spin like a top with $25 worth of Kitty Hooch. I’d love to win the gc!
The Portland Market is the BEST, would go every day if I could, especially if I had a Gift Card :)
I’d love to win the gift card because I’m broke and my apartment decor is suffering as a result!
On a hot day, there’s nothing like a cold beer, a local band and a plethora of Oregon art to get you jump started…Thanks, Saturday Market, for always being a good choice!
Saturday Market creates lifetime memories. I have a handmade cabinet an artist made me from the Saturday Market 25 years ago, and it’s still beautiful!
Our one year old carrin has never been to the Saturday market. She would love it, along with her owners!
Remember they don’t want dogs at the farmers markets!
heart IT! Last time we went we bought some art, I would love more!
I make a habit of hitting the farmer’s market every Saturday to catch a delicious breakfast snack (I’m a fan of the breakfast burritos) and pad out my collection of produce for the week!
