Cyndi Lauper burst onto the world stage as the quintessential girl who wants to have fun. After more than 25 sterling years and global record sales in excess of 30 million, she has proven that she has the heart and soul to keep her legion of fans compelled by her every creative move. The beauty of Cyndi Lauper is that she has evolved into a richly multifaceted renaissance woman who strikes a resonant chord with each project.
With her first album, “She's So Unusual,” Lauper won a Grammy for Best New Artist and became the first female artist in history to have five Top 10 singles from a debut album. Along the way, she has continually won accolades as a singer, musician, actress and writer. She has been nominated for 13 Grammys, two Emmys, two American Music Awards, seven American Video Awards and 18 MTV Awards. At the center of Lauper's life is music.
On June 22, she released her 11th studio album, titled “Memphis Blues.” With this collection of blues cover songs, she is once again reinventing herself by putting her unique twist on one of music's most beloved genres.

She is the only person I know to eclipse my fascination with Captain Lou Albino.
August 18, 2010 at 14:16
Oh please! I love her and I love the zoo and I love PDX Pipeline and I would be forever grateful and I won’t even go on to list every single song she’s ever recorded but I will sing them quietly to myself for the rest of the week. Please?

August 18, 2010 at 16:59
My first karaoke song I ever sang was girls just want to have fun. I was a nine year old boy who had no idea what he was getting into. I’d love to relive that moment.
August 18, 2010 at 17:30
Why do I want to go? Because Cindy rocks the frickin’ house…STILL.

August 18, 2010 at 19:45
CYNDI!!! ELEPHANTS!!!
August 18, 2010 at 20:17
Lauper’s music in Goonies is a neat little addition to that movie…. would love to win tickets!
August 18, 2010 at 20:20
Guess, I just wanna have fun!I remember listening to her when I was 15. God, Now I feel old. Did anybody watch Celeberty Apprentence?? She was awesome! I would love to go. Maybe I can take my high school sweet heart (My Hubby) to this. I remember my first kiss to my hubby was to the song Time After time. Maybe for my 5 year wedding anniversary, I can recreate that kiss at the concert. Thank you so much for this chance. Love you PDX!!!! Shhh don’t tell my hubby.
August 18, 2010 at 20:23
Because she was hilarious on Celebrity Apprentice and I want to laugh at her on stage too.
August 18, 2010 at 20:26
I’ve never gone to a concert at the zoo. This would be soooooo awesome! Pick me!!!
August 18, 2010 at 21:03
I think it would be totally wicked to see her in concert AND it would be even awesomer to go see her at my first zoo concert!
August 18, 2010 at 21:44
Boys just want to have fun!
August 19, 2010 at 06:43
I have seen her before so I am not really interested in the free tickets. She does put on a good show, however with this show she will probably just play the whole new blues album and maybe one or two of her hits. So those going to see her keep that in mind.
When I saw her she had a new album out and wouldn’t play anything else except that album.
That being said, she still rocks and looks great.
August 19, 2010 at 07:23
Words can not express how much I would love to win Cyndi Lauper tickets! Her songs take me back to my childhood and informative years! Dancing and singing all around the house with my friends as if we were putting on our very own concert. Oh goodness, I would love to win these! Pick me please :)
August 19, 2010 at 08:12
would love to witness her show live.
August 19, 2010 at 08:53
I would love to win these tickets, because I (not surprisingly) I love her music, I believe in what she stands for in not being afraid to tackle controversial issues, and that she did an amazing finale series for Queer as Folk. I’ve also never been to a concert at the Zoo and I’d love for this to be my first experience.
August 19, 2010 at 09:19
She grew up in Brooklyn and so did I.
August 19, 2010 at 11:52
my computer crashed on me 4 times trying to comment on this. that’s why i should win – my dedication to winning free stuff. seriously though, cyndi lauper is a goddess. also, i hate capitalizing stuff.
August 19, 2010 at 12:08
I would LOVE to take my 10 year old daughter… hoping & praying for those tickets!!
August 19, 2010 at 12:21

August 19, 2010 at 12:28
When I was in 8th grade I did a lip sync for the school talent show to Ms. Lauper’s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” After 15 years I think it’s time for this girl (me) to have some fun!!! :)
August 19, 2010 at 12:30
damn, laura probably deserves these more than me, but if it’s random and i get ‘em, woohoo!

August 19, 2010 at 13:18
I spend my summers producing incredible weddings for all the lovely PDX brides; this would be an excellent way to blow off some stress at the end of it all! And I can dazzle the audience with my perfect 80′s dance moves! Class of ’88!!!!
August 19, 2010 at 13:19
One of the first records I ever owned was She’s so Unusual. I would love to see Cindy at the Zoo.
August 19, 2010 at 13:30
When I was 15 my aunt hired our next door neighbor ( who impersonated Cyndi Lauper at the time) to come to my birthday party and when I opened the door and seen her there I about flipped! I really thought it was her for a second..lol..I have liked her for over 25 yrs and would love to go see her in concert!!
August 19, 2010 at 13:59
I really wanted to see her show the last time she was in Oregon but it was all sold out, so I would love love loooove to go to this concert!!
August 19, 2010 at 13:59
Well, everyone deserves to go. She’s fabulous and she’s got something to say to each of us: she’s a true teacher with heart.
I’d like to go to be reacquainted with her ‘in person’ – I haven’t seen her do a live show in twentyfive years, but I’m been listening to her teachings all the while.
August 19, 2010 at 14:03

August 19, 2010 at 14:05
Wow, Girls Just Want to Have Fun is one of my all time favorite songs (and Movies) and when I was about 6 I remember my cousin got to go to the Cyndi Lauper concert and I almost died with envy. I tried to go to her show at the casino a few months ago but it sold out sooo quickly. I would LOVE to go to this. The zoo is an amazing venue.
August 19, 2010 at 14:10
I would love to torture my boyfriend, and make him go with me! She is so awesome!
August 19, 2010 at 14:11
I have to go because girls just wanna have fun and because winning would allow me to see your true colors, that’s why I love you!
August 19, 2010 at 14:14
I would love to be able to take my 16 year old daughter so she can see where I get not only my great taste in music, but also my sense of style (then & now) from. Cyndi was always a source of what I emulated because growing up in Oklahoma, I always knew there was something different & better out there and found it here in Oregon! Thanks for even considering my request!!
August 19, 2010 at 14:23
Growing up in the 80′s Cyndi Lauper was a driving force in my fashion and style, as well as a huge influence on my “girls just want to have fun” attitude. Her style and music have matured however she still continues to impress and delight me. Her Memhis Blues cd is amazing… cheers to an amazing entertainer and woman!
August 19, 2010 at 14:26
The first music I bought with my own money: She’s So Unusual. Still know every word to every song. And, more recently, I think I sealed the deal with my future husband when I surprised him with tickets to Cyndi in Eugene a few years back. He loves how she squeaks! (Listen to She-Bop for a great example.) We’d love to see her again!
August 19, 2010 at 14:27
My husband and I would love to see her. She is a true original and we have been admiring her for about 30 years..
August 19, 2010 at 14:28
Love Cyndi…she made an impact on a confused teenage girl. Would love to see her!
August 19, 2010 at 14:30
I would like to win tickets to Cyndi Lauper so that I can thank my wife for valiantly accompanying me to the Rush concert earlier this summer by taking her to a concert that she would actually like.
August 19, 2010 at 14:32
I had a vision of this a week ago. I started obsessing over “True Colors”, learning the song from start to finish in preparation to sing it at karaoke. Just yesterday I saw she was coming to the Portland Zoo. When I got an email about winning tickets to see her I KNEW it was meant to be.
Pick me!!! Pick me!!!
August 19, 2010 at 14:49
I would love to see Cyndi! I thought I was Cyndi Lauper when I was 5. Totally loved her.
August 19, 2010 at 15:08
Girls just want to have fun was my favorite movie growing up, I must have watched it hundreds of times…I loved it and I love Cindi Lauper!
August 19, 2010 at 15:11
Danced to her in college. Would like to re-live that….
August 19, 2010 at 15:13
Cyndi was a huge part of the 80′s. She’s always been fun and a true original as well as a good person. It would be awesome to win tix to this concert and go with a good friend of mine.
August 19, 2010 at 15:41
to know Cindi is to love her, to feel Cindi is her music, to be one body with Cindi is hearing her words in a song, physical immortality is Cindi and I forever…in this moment.
August 19, 2010 at 15:44
Cindy sees my true colors and that’s why I love her!
August 19, 2010 at 16:18
Thanks for the chance to win! Cyndi Lauper @ the Zoo will be a hoot and a half.
August 19, 2010 at 16:28
As the assistant to a very lazy radio program director back in the ’80′s, it was my job to sort through the dozens of new records that came in daily, and decide which artists or tracks merited airplay, essentially, giving me the authority to act as program director where the playlist was concerned.
You can bet your bippy that the SECOND I listened to Cindy’s first single, that disc was directed straight to the studio, and the song was on the air within 20 minutes! I adore Cindy Lauper, to this day, as much as I did that day way back when – when I still worked in the music business, and had so many opportunities to participate actively in many artist’s development. These days, I’m a stay at home single Mom without the where-withall to take my teenager to a lot of shows, but this is one that I would be utterly THRILLED to experience with her, because I know that she would love Cindy’s music as much as I did. Fingers crossed! Thanks!
August 19, 2010 at 16:29
Cyndi Lauper music just brings me back. I really need a fun night out so I can dance to some good old tunes
August 19, 2010 at 17:01
This year cyndi laupers music has been my theme song. True colors has been sung daily around my house as I have learned all about the good and bad of peoples true colors. This would be the high light of a very difficult year and going would be such a big event to end this challenging year.
August 19, 2010 at 17:12
Whaaaaaaat??! Cindy at the Zoo? Yes please, I’m too broke to splurge on this one.
August 19, 2010 at 18:23
I use to own her CD and sing her songs when I was little. It would be amazing to see her live!
Plus I just want to have fun.
August 19, 2010 at 18:26
She’s So Unusual! :-)
August 19, 2010 at 18:51
Since I was a young boy I have been mystified by her ability to squeak like in the song “She Bop”. My wife and I saw her in Eugene Oregon a few years ago and loved every juicey lyric that came from her mouth. She is such a great performer and most of all, a beautiful person. If I were givin the opportunity to go, I would be so thrilled to see her perform one more time.
August 19, 2010 at 19:13
I am a girl and I just want to have fun!
August 19, 2010 at 19:53
Cyndi is amazing! Girl POWER! My wife and I can’t wait to go see this show. If you send us that is. ;)
August 19, 2010 at 21:25
She’s a real trip & Ima Girl who needs to Have Fun on the heels of a 3 Days to Hell Trip w/the boss to Chicago!
August 19, 2010 at 21:43
I sang “Time After Time” at summer camp in front of hundreds of people. I was so nervous. The experience transformed me; a curative for shyness and the beginning of a neverending array of hair colors. I have never seen her in concert, however (nudge).
August 19, 2010 at 22:16
Girls just wanna have fun! What better place than the Oregon zoo with cyndi lauper! Please make me a happy girl.
August 19, 2010 at 23:05
I’m teaching my daughter that she can be anyone she wants to be. What better example could there be other than Cyndi at my daughter’s first concert?
August 20, 2010 at 07:28
Because “She Bops”
August 20, 2010 at 08:30
Cyndi Lauper is a goddess. ‘Nuf said.
August 20, 2010 at 10:56
Please send me to the gig. Ive been looking for an excuse to break our my leopard skin spandex pants and leg warmers! Come on – you wanna see that!!
August 20, 2010 at 11:51
a combo of Lauper & Musselwhite probably wont happen again, so a must see & free is better!
August 20, 2010 at 12:06
“Flashback: warm nights…suitcases of memories.”
Oregon Zoo shows are a fantastic experience! Sharing music is a lovely memory and I intend to implant as many in my daughter’s youth as possible. Help me out…?
August 20, 2010 at 12:12
My boyfriend and I LOVE Cyndi Lauper, and neither of us have been to a concert in over ten years. This would be one Hell of a date night! :)
Thanks!
August 20, 2010 at 12:12
I would LOVE to win tickets to see Cyndi Lauper! I have been listening to her since I was a child, and have always been so inspired by her music and her fashion sense.
August 20, 2010 at 12:47
I have a friend in her 3rd series of cancer treatments that would SO love to have this refreshing concert – this is one of her favorite women role models!!! Please pick me!!! Thanks!
August 20, 2010 at 13:12
I heart Lauper.
August 20, 2010 at 14:59
Me and my significant other never get out anymore. I would love to win tickets! We just have to start trying new things.
Thanks!
August 20, 2010 at 16:11
Cyndi Lauper is an incredible woman and to see that she just turned 57 years old in June and is still the same spectacular energetic woman who made the hit single “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” in 1983 is unbelievable. Seeing her in concert would be amazing especially because it’s at the Oregon Zoo!!!
August 20, 2010 at 16:17
My fiancee and I would love to attend the Cindy Lauper concert!! We both have never attended a zoo concert and this would be a great concert to see!!!
August 20, 2010 at 20:24
Even with a GED, she shows that it’s still possible to live your dream.
August 21, 2010 at 07:24
I introduced her music and her life to my daughter who made her her role model based on not letting anything get in the way of making dreams come true. I would love to be able to take my daughter to see one of her idols life. It would mean so much to the both of us. Thanks for this opportunity Pipeline.
August 21, 2010 at 08:32
Cyndi is awesome, winning tickets to see her in concert with my girlfriend would be even more awesome.
August 21, 2010 at 11:39
I want these tickets because Time After Time I have tried to get my good friend to come into town for a weekend.
Finally when she had a Change of Heart and set the plans to come visit (Labor day weekeend!!!) Cyndi Lauper is coming and it will be perfect because she loves Cyndi. We even had plans to go to the zoo.
It would be perfect if I could surprise her with these (free) tickets because lets be honest, Money Changes Everything. I can’t afford to buy a set of tickets for the both of us, I’m a college student.
But, as the beautiful Cyndi Lauper puts it “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” and if I succeed in scoring these tix, J will have reason to say “I Drove All Night to She Bop with CYNDI LAUPER!”
August 21, 2010 at 11:58
Cyndi Lauper kicked open the door in the 80′s. She’s been breaking down musical doors ever since. I want to be in the room when she kicks in the doorway to the Blues with Cyndi and Charley Musselwhite. I just wanna have fun with these two unique talents!!
August 21, 2010 at 16:00
I should get these tickets because my prego girlfriend is REALLY wanting to go to the zoo, and a concert would be the perfect bait to get me to actually enjoy the trip, but mainly because with a kid on the way, I couldn’t afford to take her anyway!
August 21, 2010 at 16:21
Cyndi is a rare star that keeps true to herself. Her songs remind of my teenage years when things seemed not so world -weary.
Her voice is amazing, and her personality is adorable. My friend and I have been fans since she burst on to the scene, and we have yet to catch her live… so please pick me.
August 21, 2010 at 19:24
I love Cyndi Lauper! My husband and I are celebrating our 6th year wedding anniversary in Septemer. We had some of her songs played during the reception. Everyone rocked out to her songs and had a really fun time. Winning tickets to see her in September would be an extra shot above special. ~MJBD
August 22, 2010 at 02:35
Cause girls just wanna have fun while they she bob to the blues at the Zoo.
August 22, 2010 at 10:18
I want to see cyndi because guys just want to have fun, too!!
August 22, 2010 at 15:25
When I was 8 years old I would sit with headphones and sing with Cyndi for hours, her version of iko was always my favorite to rewind and listen again! I used to watch her show and my two daughters (8 &12) and I LOVE the Movie Girls Just wanna have fun! I can’t afford to take all three of us so winning tickets would be a blessing!
Namaste

August 23, 2010 at 09:23
Cyndi Lauper was the designated road trip tape in my family! By the time I was 10 I knew every word to her ‘She’s So Unusual’ album. I still have the tape and still know every word. Time after time I think about those trips and how lovely it would be to see her live!
August 23, 2010 at 09:46
Cyndia Lauper’s True Colors album was the first cassette tape I owned. I was in the 2nd grade and staying home from school sick one day. My grandfather called and asked what I wanted, I obviously replied with Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors album. As a methodist minister, he had never heard of Cyndi Lauper and had probably only bought a handful of tapes in his life. But eager to please he went to the music store and asked for Cyndi Lauper’s latest album and delivered it to me that afternoon. What a great guy and I felt instantly better.
Please, I want two tickets to this concert!
August 23, 2010 at 09:48
I would like the chance for my children to witness a true icon and legendary singer!
August 23, 2010 at 09:50
Why would I like to attend? I believe the names –Cyndi Lauper and Charlie Musselwhite — make that pretty self-expanatory. Plus, nothing says summer like the Oregon Zoo Concert Series, and I have yet to attend one this year (sob).
August 23, 2010 at 10:08
Because I have “She’s So Unusual” on vinyl AND cd, as well as the “Time After Time” sheet music. Oddly, in my youth, I fashioned myself to be a singer and attempted to use that song as an audition for a local production of “Annie.” I was not deemed good enough to even be a non-speaking orphan. And so my singing career ended. I would love to celebrate someone who has had the opposite experience (and is quite good at it.)
August 23, 2010 at 10:46
Having been a product of 80′s music and a fan of the Oregon Zoo would make this a wonderful prize. I am and will always be a Cyndi Lauper fan. Despite these kids now a day stating 80′s music is so 2002.
August 23, 2010 at 12:52
I just wanna have fun!
August 23, 2010 at 13:33
Simply put, I will marry whoever gets me a ticket to this show. Even if that means I have to marry a lady.
This is how much I want to see Cyndi perform.
August 24, 2010 at 01:08
I remember listening to my mom digging on cindy lauper about 20 years ago. I enjoyed seeing her so happy and careless. Today, as a “adult” I appreciate what i hear, past and present music. It could be a one of a kind night.
August 28, 2010 at 17:55
I am Cindi Lauper’s “Doppleganger” twin. Gotta see if she has the secret birthmark, scary.
September 1, 2010 at 14:19
According to her management, she is playing a whole set off her new album, and a whole set of her greatest hits!
