Comedian Jimmy Pardo will be performing at Helium Comedy Club located at SE 9th & Hawthorne on August 26th-28th. Show times are 8pm with an additional 10:30 show on Friday and Saturday. Tickets range from $15-$25.
Years of delivering this cutting edge style comedy has earned Jimmy the respect of his peers and along with it, the moniker “comic's comic”. This reputation has earned him invitations to perform on “The Tonight Show starring Jay Leno”, several appearances on “The Late Late Show” and his own half hour special on Comedy Central. Jimmy has also found a comfortable home on television, living his dream of hosting a game show on Game Show Network's “National Lampoon's Funny Money”. He has also hosted episodes of VH1's “The Surreal Life”, NBC's “Late Friday”, VH1's “Love Lounge” as well as co-host of AMC's “Movies at our House” for five seasons.
Acting appearances include guest spots on “Monk”, “That 70's Show” and “Becker”.
Unafraid to tackle any medium, Jimmy recently acted in the Dreamworks' studio version of “Dreamgirls” (which he was cut out of… let's see if it makes the DVD… he didn't!) and the indie features, “Relative Strangers” and “The Godfather of Green Bay”.
As for the world of theatre, he is the co-writer and star of a critically acclaimed one-man show, subtly titled, “Attention Must Be Paid: The Jimmy Pardo Story” and a live pilot presentation, “Jimmy Pardo's Dance Party”. His podcast “Never Not Funny” was named “Best of 2006 and 2007″ by the iTunes staff. It also won “Best Comedy Podcast 2008” at the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival.

I have had difficult past few weeks with work and moving …I have never been to comedy club. I could use some good and hearty laughs to end my work week @ 8 pm.

I have never once been to a comedy club and have always wanted to go. I am a laugher! I just moved back to Portland after being away for nearly 5 years. Times have been tough this summer and it has forced my girlfriend and I to focus on free things to do here in Portland(which there is a lot and i love it!) Yet, I would be grateful to finally be able to take her out for a change as well as experience my first comedy club alongside getting to know Portland again!
