Comedian Greg Proops will be performing at Helium Comedy Club located at SE 9th & Hawthorne on September 9th-11th.  Show times are 8pm with an additional 10:30 show on Friday and Saturday. Tickets range from $15-$27.
Greg Proops is a stand-up comic from San Francisco. He lives in Hollywood and likes it. Mr. P has a spanking new stand-up comedy CD called Proops Digs In. It's available on iTunes and at http://www.aspecialthing.com. Mr. Proops is a frequent guest on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Chelsea Later on E! and on Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld on Fox News Channel. Proops has been a guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The View and The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Mr. Prooples regularly hosts his own live comedy chat show at the perilously hip Hollywood rock joint Largo. Guests have included Flight of the Conchords, Jason Schwartzman, Russell Brand, Jack Black, Dave Grohl, Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman, Joe Walsh, Janeane Garofalo, David Cross, Margaret Cho, Dave Eggers, Joan Rivers, Andy Richter, Jeff Goldblum, Kathy Griffin, Lewis Black, Eddie Izzard and John C. Reilly. Providing musical magic is genius and imp Jon Brion.
Mr. Proops is married to a woman, Jennifer. He doesn't deserve her. They reside in Lower California with their pet ocelot, Lady Gaga.

I’ve been to Helium once, and had a great time (like, its much nicer, and the acts were a lot funnier than I was expecting). I’d love to go again. And this is a comedian I’ve actually heard of!

Greg Proops is hilarious, I love his delivery and the tone of his voice when he’s making a joke, he’s one of my faves on Chelsea Lately, and I have also been dying to check out Helium. I’m also awesome but can’t afford the tickets myself, and my birthday is next week, and I’m turning the big 3-0 and I could use the laughter as a method of preventing the anxiety of leaving my twenties behind. :)
I have no real preference, but let’s do Saturday- 1030pm .

Why do I want to see Greg? Middle schoolers are funny, but after two weeks of teaching I could use a night out. Furthermore my birthday is Friday and the guy I’m dating decided to go hiking with his buddies on the coast, rather than have a date with me. Grrrr ;)
All else aside, PrOOPS is the shit and it’d be fun to go!

Wow, Mr. Proops is popular! I of course know Greggy from his appearances on Who’s line is it anyway. A show I would watch with my dad for hours and we would roll around the couch laughing like buffoons. I have been meaning to check out a show at the Helium, which is only about 10 blocks from my new apartment. My sister and her husband who are stuck in Medford most of the time with their screaming 4-yr old twins are here in town this weekend & I want to be able to surprise them something really fun to do. Ah, Greg Proops! My wife and I have been huuuge fans since we first saw him on the UK version of ‘Who’s Line’. His timing and versatility make him one of the best comedians of the last 25 years. My wife has been having a few really difficult & stressful weeks at work, and I’d love to surprise her with tickets to the Saturday 10:30 show.
