September 13, 2010 — PDXPIPELINEThe weekend is over, but PICA's TBA Festival rolls on. If you are not on PICA's email list, here is the info sent out earlier today.
From PICA TBA email:
TBA DAY FIVE: BLANKET, MARIA HASSABI, JENNIFER REEVES
Here at PICA, we often talk about TBA as not one, but two festivals, each wrapped around our bookend weekends. Well, today is your last chance to catch the first of our main stage shows: Mike Daisey, Dayna Hanson, and Gare St. Lazare Players all wrap up their runs after tonight's performances. Don't miss these exceptional works!
7:00 PM -Â Danielle Kelly + Noelle Stiles: BLANKET at NW 11th and Glisan
8:30 PM – Maria Hassabi: SoloShow at Imago
Take in an evening of intimate and sculptural dance pieces. First off, stop by the plush-draped storefront at NW 11th and Glisan for BLANKET, a contemplative dance set inside a sculpted fabric and projection-filled environment. Then, make your way across the river for Maria Hassabi's powerful and graceful SoloShow. In this controlled and strenuous dance, Hassabi treats her body as instrument, channeling centuries of female iconography through her lithe form.
10:30 PM – Jennifer Reeves + Skuli Sverrisson at THE WORKS at Washington High School
And join us at THE WORKS when our friends from Cinema Project present a beautiful and elegiac two-channel 16mm film by Jennifer Reeves, with a live guitar score by Skuli Sverrisson.
