About Blue October
On the new Blue October album, Approaching Normal, Justin Furstenfeld moves his band forward into confident new territory as a songwriter and as a storyteller. Steve Lillywhite, the producer synonymous with U2 and five-time Grammy Award winner guided the way and the result is an album that breaks the mold of whatever anyone may think Blue October is.
Lillywhite's first attraction to Blue October was the voice. “For me, it's always the voice that gets me first because my opinion on a voice never changes. There are singers and there are expressionists and Justin is both,” says Steve, who quickly adds that just as important is the artistry, “Their music really touches people in a way that the music of great artists do. There is bond of passion and trust between artist and audience.”
“Working with Steve has always been my dream and I learned so much from him…like less is more.” Justin comments, “I was like a painter that did not know how to paint. It's quite a new step trusting someone with your vision…but hey it's Steve Lillywhite and I trusted him completely.”

I think it would simply be amazing to see Blue October play at the beautiful Crystal Ballroom. =]
free tickets to a concert, that is enough reason to go for me.
some friends have seen em before at the crystal and said they were great. would love to see em live. thx. much.
I’d love to see them in concert!!
I actually purchased tickets to see them a few years ago in Seattle when they played the Showbox, but had to sell them last minute because my wife got really sick… everyone’s healthy this time around and would love to have the chance to see them play the Crystal.
OH MAN! Blue October! They keep comin’ around and I keep missing them. I promised myself that I would see them next time around, but alas, the economic downfalls of working non-profit has prohibited such festive activity in my life. So I am begging…. Hook a girl up!!!
Just moved to the area from the midwest & am waiting to hear back on some jobs, in the meantime would love to see this concert & be able to meet people!
I’m always working anytime they roll through, But i recently caught the unemployment virus so now i can go to shows! if i could only afford them. Thats where you guys come in right?
i’d like to win because it would make my week! :)
I still can’t believe these Texans are still playing. I’ve been listening since 2000 and last saw them in 2003. I would love to go to the show to see how they have grown in the last 7 years.
Gotta love free tix…I know I would!!!
I won tickets, I would bake them some delicious macaroons.
IF I won tickets, I would bake them some delicious macaroons.
I’m a retransplanted Texan, from Houston like these guys, and would love to see them live!! Blue October has a great sound.
I would love to see Blue October. I am a huge fan but have no cash.. Damn this recession.
This would be amazing. I’d love to win tickets.
Would love to finally see them in concert!!
Blue October — because it’s been a blue and rainy summer and I need the energy boost.
Because I, like Blue October, bring awesomeness where ever I go!!
it would be awesome if i can win ticket to see them perform!
LOVE BLUE OCTOBER, always miss them when they’re here!!
Blue October is our favorite band! The last time they played Portland we were living in Corvallis. I bought 4 tickets and we were so excited to go. That morning…I got the flu. I spent the entire day and night violently ill. Of course by morning I was completely better, and had $140 worth of tickets to use as book marks. I’d love to actually make it to the show this time!
While I do like Blue October, I have been a huge fan of South Africa’s latest musical export The Parlotones for a long time. I follow them on twitter, subscribe to their youtube channel and on facebook. For over a year now, I have been pleading with them to find a way to make it the states. Then I read they are on tour at the same my “fun money fund” is almost bankrupt. This would be a great privilege and a very special gift to be able to see both of these stellar acts in Portland.
I love this.band!!! Saw.them last year. Gotta go, please ?!?
This is going to be good! Thanks!
OMG!!! Pass a poor girl some tickets! My husband and I are desperate! lol…Love this band they are great!
It would make a awesome September to see Blue October!
