  3.   Erin Says:

Saw Mortified PDX during the summer in NW and loved it! Such a great idea! Would love to see it again.

  4.   Christa Wessel Says:

Are you kidding? Hearing Sam Adams tell mortifying stories from his youth?? That sounds too good to be true! (Please pick me!) :)

  5.   Mo Says:

Trying to build up the courage to actually submit to Mortified. If the Mayor can do it…

  6.   Lisa Says:

Mortified: Proof that living vicariously is much better than doing it yourself.

  7.   Katherina Says:

I am a great audience member because I clap, cheer and boo loudly and on command. I love love love Sam Adams and am so proud to have him as our mayor. and I have always wanted to go to a Mortified show.

Mortified is amazing… I’ve read the book but never seen it live! Super hilarious

  9.   Maggie Says:

Oh, god, I have been following Mortified for years now, and coveted being able to go to the shows before I turned 21. Now that I am almost 23, I still have yet to make it to a show – terrible. If I could go next week, I don’t think I would ever be happier, especially since I’d be able to take one of my roommates along!

  10.   Blake Says:

    I’d love this event!

  11.   Spencer Says:

The only thing missing about this posting is the fact that it is the Opening Night Event for the Wordstock Book Festival. It’s going to be a great opening event.

  12.   Berenice Says:

I listen to all types of storytelling radio shows and podcasts religiously. I need to hear other people’s stories to encourage myself to get up the gumption to tell my own horrifyingly embarrassing tale. Help!

  13.   Barbara C Says:

Oh please please please. I neeeeed to go to this. Hearing others mortifying experiences might possible make me believe that mine pale in comparison. True Joy.

  14.   heather Says:

  16.   James Says:

    WHAT’S MORTIFIED???

I just learned what this is and realize I have so much to offer. After months of cleaning out boxes of mementos to get ready for a move, I’ve discovered plenty from my past that just MORTIFIES ME!

  17.   Stacey Says:

I would love to see Mortified and share in that uncomfortable feeling! Just the thought of it is inspiring me to find my junior high Hello Kitty diary…

  18.   Corey Says:

I want to take comforte in the fact that their are other people out their that were bigger freakshows then myself

  19.   Lia Says:

Mortified sounds like a great, voyeuristic event that proves we’re all not as strange as we think. I would love to attend! :)

  20.   Meg Says:

    Dear Diary,
Wouldn’t it be, like, so awesome if I won those free tickets to Mortified? Who should I invite to share in my good luckiness? (I don’t even think that is a word, but Dear Diary, you never criticize my creative wordfulness.) Maybe The Cute One from chemistry? Or should I be true to my best friend and treat her to a fun night out? On the other hand, would she pick me or that McHottie she is lusting after? That witch would probably throw me over for the first boy who even looks twice at her! That does it – her backstabbing me like that is the final straw that broke this camel’s back. I’m not even telling her that I won. I mean fuhgettabout her, right?

  21.   Shely Says:

I love this concept! I am mortified just thinking about it (in a good way).

  22.   Cassandra Says:

Mortified+Wordstock. I have no words. Pick me pick me pick me please please please.

  23.   Dee Says:

Please pick me! I want to go to see Sam Adams mortified.

  24.   Sandy McCollum Says:

I’ve never won tickets yet, I’m pretty sure it’s my turn! I’m a big Sam Adams fan and I’d love to see this show!

  25.   Tamara Says:

Once I crawled under a house to follow the “big kids” in one of their adventures. Everyone made it out except me. I was stuck under there for three hours because I couldn’t find the entrance in the dark. Instead of getting upset I made a fort and a figurine out of dirt and metal (that somehow was under the house).
Finally, I was able to hear my Mom calling my name hysterically. I said I’m here! She was confused as I was not in the bathroom where the little voice was coming from. I eventually was found covered in dirt and carrying my metal figurine.
I still have that figurine packed in a box, under the house.

That was a great story and all, but I think I heard something about tickets?

  26.   LadyZ Says:

I started journaling at 14, while at summer camp. I did it religiously until age 25. I still have those journals and very rarely will pull them out.

Listening to the mortified podcast is like reading the shit I wrote years ago, and laughing at it.

  27.   free Says:

ooooooo-pick me! i’ve heard great things about mortified and this sam adams character.

  28.   Sara Says:

I love Wordstock, and I’ve been meaning to check out a live Mortified show for quite a while now… plus Sam Adams is an intriguing guy. Also, it’s on my birthday’s eve. So hook this Libra up, please!

  29.   the jake Says:

I remember going to a poet competition in salt lake one time…. random people were picked from the audience to rate the poets, in the poetry slam… Every single person had such, dark, deep, humorous and inspirational slams that I met up with them after for their own poetry meet ups and this quaint coffee shop. I read a few pieces myself… It was another world to speak your words, emphasizing characteristics, voice and movement to represent the ideal.

The was almost a year ago, I would love to see what Portland has to offer, and meeting/seeing mayor Sam Adams! Double whammy! Getting some face time with local politicians would be sweeeeeet!

  30.   Kate Says:

Every Mortified event I’ve been to has been fantastic and I would love, love to hear Sam Adams tell his stories!

  31.   Alex Says:

Wait, does the mayor also get to be mortified? Schadenfreudelicious

  32.   Chris Freeman Says:

Oh Mortified is great! Perhaps if I won some tickets I could find a lady to go with me and then I wouldn’t have to go home and write sappy, lonely stories in my dear diary… which I am too old to be doing. If only I had some tickets…

  33.   Asher Says:

Always up for a Slam Session — and this one has the formula for fun!!
