Presenting — A Night at the Cotton Club

Take a thrilling trip back in time through the tunes that made Harlem's Cotton Club an American legend in the 1920's, including the music of Duke Ellington ("It Don't Mean a Thing if It Ain't Got That Swing"), Harold Arlen ("Stormy Weather"), the brothers Gershwin ("I Got Rhythm"), W.C. Handy ("St. Louis Blues") and others.
The Performers: The Oregon Symphony, with Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik on the podium, joined by trumpeter and singer Byron Stripling, singer Carmen Bradford and tap dancer Ted Levy.

Wow, so much good stuff this weekend. I now I probably burned my chances, asking for derby and then the Mt. Tabor show. But what’s to lose, a swinging symphony would be magical too. Thanks PDX Pipeline.
