First Thursday @ Everett Station Lofts, Portland, OregonPortland's monthly First Thursday event is TONIGHT. Time is certainly flying by right now with the beginning of all our great fall events. There are over 50 (probably 100) galleries having openings this month.

We have a very large list below thanks to Sequential Art Gallery (328 NW Broadway) & Rich Vail Mackin. They compile an email called the "[h]IT LIST" of events every month. You can join it by emailing them @ sequentialart @ gmail dot com. We have reproduced much of it below with permission.

This Month at Sequential Art Gallery:
JET PACK JACK AND THE STEAM GIANT
New work by MIKE LAWRENCE

Beans, steams, and giant killer robots all play a part in Mike Lawrence's version of the classic fairy tale Jack and the Bean Stalk. Jack and his mother are poor, so poor they dream of a day they can afford to eat loafers instead of tough old work boots. When Jack's mother give's him his dear departed dad's broken pocket watch to sell in town for some food, Jack buys a jet pack instead and his rocketed to a junkyard filled with treasure, and guarded by a steam powered automaton. Jet Pack Jack and the Steam Giant opens First Thursday, November 4th from 6 to 10 pm, and runs through November.

Sequential Art Gallery + Studio is located in Old Town Chinatown at the Everett Station Lofts, 328 NW Broadway #113. Open for regular gallery hours Thursdays (3pm-7pm) and Saturdays (11am-5pm) or by appointment. The gallery showcases local artists who explore the concept of sequential art, which is loosely defined as using consecutive images to tell a story. Curated by Kaebel JK Hashitani and Merrick Monroe.

    hey pdx pipeline,
looks like you’ve got APAK’s grassy knoll show [http://www.grassyknollgallery.com/] set to be at Grass Hut, which instead has a mushroom themed group show [http://grasshutcorp.com/blog/?p=1278] this month.

  2.   Julian Chadwick Says:

    Hmmm,

I see the info from Sequential has the Grassy Hut listed, but I don’t see any show listed there…just that they are open on first Thursday. I’m not sure what you mean so I don’t know what to fix really.

  3.   Elroy Artspace Says:

Hi, Julian… Please remember to post the Elroy-curated solo show by Mulder142: “The Secret Lives of Clowns” opening First Thursday at The Original Dinerant, 300 SW 6th Ave (at Oak), Downtown – thanks!, -Joe – Preview here: http://bit.ly/SecretClowns

  4.   Julian Chadwick Says:

    added.

  5.   nathan Says:

Sequential accidentally combined two shows it seems.
    Grass Hut ≠ Grassy Knoll
Both are galleries in Old Town Chinatown.
APAK show is at Grassy Knoll.
Mushroom Magic show is at Grass Hut.
Linked to each respective show’s details in previous comment.
