GAME 19: Blazers @ Washington Wizards
December 3, 4PM; Comcast Sports
Portland Trail Blazers Schedule
Three games ago, I declared that the Blazers could realistically go 3-1 on this road trip. They are currently 0-3.
Tonight the Blazers are in the District of Columbia to play the 5-12 Washington Wizards. They struggle to get easy points, rebound and play defense.
The Wizards do have some young talent to hang their collective hat on. Most notably, rookie point guard John Wall, who desperately needs to find a better team. Along side Wall, the Wizards have the awkwardly lanky JaVale McGee, who blocks shots, rebounds and scores the ball decently. McGee's biggest problem is that he has a tendency to play a little soft sometimes (a problem Blazers fans are familiar with thanks to LaMarcus Aldridge).
The Wizards on paper.
Starting five: Andray Blatche, JaVale McGee, Gilbert Arenas, Kirk Hinrich, Alonzo Gee
Off the bench: Al Thornton, Nick Young, Trevor Booker, John Wall, Kevin Seraphin, Cartier Martin
MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
- Gilbert Arenas was suspended last year for bringing a gun into the locker room over a debt then teammate Javaris Crittenton amassed playing a game called Boo-ray.
- Joel Pryzbilla will be in uniform tonight and expected to play limited minutes
STRATEGY
Team basketball should bring down the Wizards. The Blazers need to make extra passes to get easy buckets. Win the assists tonight and win the game.
LET'S GET RICH
To date: 8-6-1.
Blazers -4. I went away from the Blazers against the Celtics and paid for it. Tonight I will take the Blazers -4. And probably pay for it again.
TRADE ME
Rudy Fernandez. Hey, anyone seen this guy recently?
