Portland's COMMOTION is a live experience that you don't want to miss! Drawing from funk, hip hop, and Afrobeat rhythms, they bring a non-stop dance party from start to finish. Having presented such high concept shows as Live Band vs. Ohmega Watts (band vs. DJ) and an Afrobeat Tribute to Michael Jackson, the band is well versed in dance music. Led by keyboardist, Ben Darwish, COMMOTION features core members Dan Duval on guitars, Sam Howard on bass, Russ Kleiner on drums, and a rotating cast of impressive singers, horn players, and percussionists.
For their "Resurrection" show, they'll be unveiling a new lineup, new originals, and new mash-ups of your favorite songs. Special guests include Steveland Swatkins (Juno What!?), John Nastos (Damian Erskine Project), Jesse Brooke (Trio Subtonic), and a slew of others. $8

We just bought a house in SE Portland and we are still learning about all the amazing places to go hear live music. We regularly take our friends from out of town out and finding a great new venue would be awesome. We love great music, good venues, and shakin’ our bootys!
