The Blazers square off against the Utah Jazz tonight at Energy Solutions Arena. The Jazz are 21-9, and are currently leading the Northwest division by 1 game. Jerry Sloan has adapted to his thin roster by only really playing his six best players. The starters and C.J. Miles see most of the minutes. The other players, depending on the match up, are only there to spell the rotation players at the end of quarters.
The Jazz average 24 assists per game, which is good enough for 4th in the league. Most of these come from Deron Williams, who averages 10 a contest.
The Jazz on paper
Starting five: Andrei Kirilenko, Paul Millsap, Al Jefferson, Raja Bell, Deron Williams
Off the bench: Earl Watson, Francisco Elson, Ronnie Price, C.J. Miles, Kyrylo Fesenko, Gordon Hayward
More from the rumor mill: Marc Stein reports that Nate McMillian might end up in Charlotte coaching the Bobcats next year.
Throw the Jazz of their game by taking away Williams' ability to create for the team.
LET'S GET RICH
To date: 11-11-1.
NUMBER OF BACK TO BACKS THIS SEASON (IN SETS)
Crazily, the Blazers are in Denver tomorrow night for their ninth back-to-back of the season. A big night for the bench would allow the starting five to rest up if this game is put away early. A win would also put the Blazers one game over .500.
