GROUND-BREAKING COMIC JOAN RIVERS MAKES A RARE PORTLAND APPEARANCE

What sort of music serves as the perfect opening act for a comedy legend? How about show-stoppers like Jule Styne's Overture to Gypsy? A little Mel Brooks music from The Producers? The famous melody known as "The Stripper"? Then it's Rivers herself with her one-of-a-kind stand-up comedy.

Her multifaceted career has also covered a wide range of high-profile detours along the way: as the author of two best-selling books, as TV talk-show host and syndicated radio host, as playwright, jewelry designer and shopping channel pitchwoman, as red carpet fashion commentator, as movie director and as the subject of the acclaimed recent documentary bio-pic, Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work.

Canada's Globe and Mail newspaper recently said about her: "Although crowding 80, Rivers remains a frantic, electrifying performer. It's all still there — the verve, the timing, the pith, the vinegar. She's still so good, so funny, that you hate bringing up the R word. ‘You retire when the audience stops laughing,' Rivers says."

I saw her documentary and she’s an amazing woman. If I get to see her once in my life time this is the best time to see her.
