MANY Portland First Thursday Art Events | NW, SW, Pearl, Old Town, China Town
January 6, 2011 — PDXPIPELINE
Portland's monthly First Thursday event is tonight! It might be a bit wet out there, but not too bad and not too cold and there will still be many people out enjoying great art. There are over 50 (probably 100) galleries having openings this month.
We have a very large list below thanks to Sequential Art Gallery (328 NW Broadway) & Rich Vail Mackin. They compile an email called the "[h]IT LIST" of events every month. You can join it by emailing them @ sequentialart @ gmail dot com. We have reproduced much of it below with permission.

This Month at Sequential Art Gallery:
Cryptozoology: A Pragmatist's Guide
Everett Station Lofts, 328 NW Broadway #113
Curated by Kaebel JK Hashitani and Merrick Monroe.
In “Cryptozoology: A Pragmatist's Guide,” Reid Psaltis has illustrated twelve monsters, cryptids chosen for having entertaining and thought-provoking circumstances and origins. Most discussions on cryptozoology start and end with personal beliefs, but one needn't take sides to still enjoy the evidence for its own sake. The book's original artwork will be on display and copies will be available for purchase through January.
