Win Tickets: Two Evenings Of Stand Up Comedy @ Brody Theater | "Porseattland"
January 6, 2011 — PDXPIPELINEThe Helium Comedy club is so hot right now that Kevin Hart's shows this weekend are pretty much sold out (Can still get Ben Bailey of Cash Cab next weekend!). If you don't have tickets for Helium, you can get your comedy fix at the Brody Theater with lots of local comedians including Ian Karmel. Ian has been a guest on the Comcast Sports Blazers after-show, Talkin' Ball, and been killing it.
We have a pair of tickets to give away for each night. To win, comment on this post why you would like to attend (IMPORTANT – comment WHICH NIGHT as well – Friday/Saturday). Winners will be drawn/emailed on Friday.
From press release (Poster of Friday show):

oh my gosh! I hope I win. My husband and I have two little ones at home (2 and 3 years old) that have kept us busy night and day since they were born. It is an exhausting life for parents with a young family–on a budget, mind you. With the cost of the babysitter combined with the cost of a date night, the idea of going out is hard to swallow these days. Tickets to this show would be a wonderful, inexpensive, treat for us.

Ian Karmel sounds like candy.
My son’s an Ian and he is dandy.
I heard Mike Drucker
was once a trucker,
And that Ron Funches
does his crunches.
Barbara Holm and John McKay,
I’d like to come on Saturday!

Lori left a nice poem…I haven’t got the creative capacity for that tonight but my name is similar to hers. So I’m just as cool by association. Tickets for either night, but preferably Saturday, would be sweet!!
January 6, 2011 at 16:43
PDX Pipeline Rules! And So does Helium Comedy Club! Please Pick ME!!!! To win tickets to On Firday, though Saturday also works!
As Kevin Hart puts it on his t shirts “Say it wit ya chest”
January 6, 2011 at 16:48
I haven’t been to see a stand-up comic in almost 20 years! It would be great to go on either of the nights (Friday or Saturday). Sounds like a great night out…
January 6, 2011 at 16:48

January 6, 2011 at 19:02
I would loooove to attend either night, but especially Friday since I just started taking a dreaded Friday night class while others are kicking off their weekend. Not to mention my husband would love to see a new venue for comedy. :)

January 6, 2011 at 21:30
I’ve been wanting to get into the Helium club and some good comedy would be very welcome after the first week back to classes.
January 6, 2011 at 21:41
Because no one wants to make an effort to win tickets except to fill out a form, I’ve got strep throat and a broken foot during the first week of college. Give me something to smile about
January 6, 2011 at 22:38
I would love to win tickets because it’s date night for my boyfriend and I, we’ve been having a really tough time lately because we work day jobs then try to cram our photography and relationship and life in the cracks. Stress, work, us having literally polar opposite schedules means date night is mega important. Please give us some laughs for our date night. We need it!
January 6, 2011 at 22:39
Friday night please!
January 6, 2011 at 23:42
Our new year’s promise is to spend one on one couple nights together…please? 10 pm is good!

I have wanted to go with my husband to a stand-up comedy night for a long time. I had tickets for a show a month ago, but I got the flu so we had to pass it up. I would love to win tickets to be able to attend the Saturday night stand-up!
Thanks for the chance to win.
January 7, 2011 at 07:43
If the Helium Club is so hot, then that’s the place I need to be cuz it’s damned cold out here in East County!
January 7, 2011 at 08:10
It was a dark and stormy night, there was bad news on the telly and worse news everywhere in the making, the only thing that kept her from popping Prozac like Pez was the tiny ray of hope coming from a pair of standup comedy tickets that could possibly come her way and ward off the shadowy demons that threatened her very existence; at least for this one night.
January 7, 2011 at 08:11
Saturday preferably
January 7, 2011 at 08:24
We’re how many months into Portland’s grey grey winter…. comedy please!

It’s been forever since I’ve seen a good comedy show and after a crap week I made reservations to the Saturday 8pm show for two. Free would pair well with the night.
January 7, 2011 at 13:49
A Haiku for consideration:
Divorce is final
She took me to the cleaners
I need a good laugh
Portland has the BEST comedy scene around and this would certainly be the best way for me to “celebrate” my new life. Saturday Nite would be AWESOME. Thanks for your consideration for tickets.

January 7, 2011 at 17:00
Amy Schumer and him didn’t hit it off, huh?
January 7, 2011 at 17:04
Then suddenly a knock on the door…
It wasn’t, couldn’t, possibly be him could it?!
She had to look, but was afraid to….(to be continued)
