——————————————

After a short flight, the Blazers find themselves in Sacramento to face the lowly Kings tonight.

There are only 2 bright spots on the Kings' roster:

1. Tyreke Evans
Evans, last year's rookie of the year, has been slowed by an ankle injury this year. He isn't scoring as much as he did in his rookie year, but he is still deadly. He averages 17 ppg to go along with 5 rebounds, 5 assists and nearly 2 steals a game. He's also a big point guard at 6' 6″. Andre Miller has is work cut out for him.

2. DeMarcus Cousins
Cousins was selected 5th in last summer's NBA draft out of Kentucky. Cousins has shown flashes of brilliance this year, but has a major attitude problem and is always getting in his own way. He is only averaging 13 ppg and 10 rpg this season, but is capable of a huge game. Especially since the Blazers are going to be undersized without Marcus Camby.

The Nets on paper:
Starting five: Jason Thompson, Donte Greene, DeMarcus Cousins, Beno Udrih, Tyreke Evans
Off the bench: Samuel Dalembert, Omir Casspi, Jermaine Taylor, Carl Landry, Eugene Jeter

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
Marcus Camby has a slight tear in his meniscus and will have it operated on shortly. There is currently no timeline for his return.

STRATEGY
The only thing the Kings do well is rebound the ball; everyone on the floor will crash the boards. This poses a bit of a problem for the Blazers, as Marcus Camby just went down with a meniscus tear. The Blazers counter this by crashing the boards and hoping that Joel Pryzbilla is ready to start playing like he did 2 years ago.

LET'S GET RICH

Blazers -2. The Blazers had a day off and it's a short flight. I'll take them as road favorites.

BOTTOM LINE
This one-and-done road trip to Sacramento is the only thing between the Blazers and a five game home stand. Take care of business in the NBA's most boring road city and enjoy spending the rest of January at home.
