Unquestionably one of the most important films of all time, Nanook of the North by Robert Flaherty portrays a year in the life of Nanook, a once legendary Inuit and his family. Retake Productions is proud to present a new live musical accompaniment to excerpts from this and four other silent film classics; Un Chien Andalou by Salvador Dali and Luis Bunuel, The General by Buster Keaton, Regen by Jors Ivens, and Earth by Alexander Dovzhenko
Retake Productions (www.retakeproductions.com) is a music production company that was founded in 2007 to create music that enhances great films and exposes them to a broad variety of people. Their goal is to develop a symbiotic relationship between film and music that puts traditional, classical elements in juxtaposition with a post-modern, jazz-based palate. The performance of the original scores will accompany the films and will feature live violin, cello, trumpet, guitar, acoustic bass, and drums.–

I’d love to go to this because I’m a huge fan of silent film, I love these movies, and after I saw “Psycho” with a live orchestra on Halloween… I NEED to see more movies with live music!
It’s probably very stirring and jarring and makes for a great hand-holding date!!
I have never seen this film and would love to go!!
This Sounds Awesome! I would love to go
i’d love to catch a silent film accompanied by retake productions. never heard ‘em, but so long as they don’t bastardize the films like the 80s score for fritz lang’s metropolis, we’ll be just fine.
after the crazy awesome Star Wars with live music at the Hollywood – Im hooked!
I’ve never heard this done before and would love the opportunity to see/hear it!
This sounds totally sweet – I’m also not familiar w/this group, but if they’re anything like Alloy Orchestra or Little Bang Theory, I’m into them already.
This sounds interesting and I’d love to win tickets…
Love the location! Sounds like a blast!
wow. this sounds like much fun; one of those things you can talk about afterwards. i like these kinds of events.
i’ve wanted to see one of these live-music-with-movies performances for quite a while and this looks like the weekend for it! may the lucky drawing gods be with me…
This sounds incredible, I’d live to attend
