Emerging from Portland's indie hip hop scene, Rafael Vigilantics released “Bury Me Standing” in March 2009 and quickly found himself sharing the stage with underground hard-hitters such as B. Dolan, Onry Ozzborn, P.O.S. and the Anti-Pop Consortium and more mainstream successes such as the Digable Planets.

In February 2011, Rafael announces the dual release of the EP “A Snake with Shaky Hands” along with his full length record “The Orgasm of a Ghost” . The EP demonstrates Rafael's versatility as an artist combining rap, with punk, soul and R&B and lyrics that summon images of hopsick-hardships.

Jason Meyers, author of the best selling novel, Exit Here, had this to say about “A Snake with Shaky Hands” : “…Starting from the first track, "Blind Robin", with an intro that leaves you staggering and engrossed, the E.P. only picks up steam with introspective songs dealing with conflictions that almost anyone can relate to…”

The release of Rafael's new full length record “The Orgasm of a Ghost”, goes further in defining Rafael's sound as an artist. Combining soul driven hip-hop with an old school punk and hardcore sensibility, Rafael sets out to prove that he isn't going anywhere we've been before.

Lyrically, this record cuts deep into an intense world that can best be described as crazy wisdom, often stressing ambivalence about serious moral issues.

Come celebrate with Rafael Vigilantics Friday night for just $8!
