From our sponsors at East Burn:
Full Sail Bourbon-Barrel Aged Stout Tasting
East Burn Annex
1800 E. Burnside
Thursday, February 24
6 to 8 p.m.
$10 | 21 + | Reservations
Full Sail Brew Master John Harris hosts this tasting featuring a 2009 and 2011 Bourbon-Barrel Aged Stout. Hors d'oeuvres to pair with the tasting include clams casino, chocolate covered Neuske bacon, and sweet potato blini with pork tenderloin.
After its initial release in January 2010, Full Sail's Black Gold Bourbon Imperial Stout was aged for a full year in Bourbon casks from Kentucky. This extended aging presents hints of vanilla and oak. This, combined with the robust character of the Imperial Stout make for a smooth, wonderful taste experience. Black Gold was named one of “the best” barrel aged beers in the US by Men's Journal and took home a silver medal at the 2006 Great American Beer Festival® in the Wood and Barrel Aged Strong beer category.
Space is limited. To reserve your space in person, stop by the Upstairs Bar at EastBurn! Or reserve online by visiting www.theEastBurn.com.

I like beers and tasting them. Seriously, this intrigues me. Bourbon-barrel aged stout? I’d like to give that a try.
Sounds like a fabulous event!
I’ve never been to a beer tasting before, and I’d like to experience it. :)
My boyfriend says that he has never met a stout he liked. I would love to change that.
This sounds amazing!
Sounds like a fabulous pairing of food and aged stout and East Burn is an awesome place!
Sounds fun and a good follow-up to Saturday’s fest.
Hell yeah! Thanks
I haven’t had good Bourbon since visiting the distilleries in my best friend’s state of Kentucky. Please remind me of those good times.. !
Yes yes yes! Beer, bourbon, delicious food, East Burn and a brew master. All these things make me very happy. I would love to go. Thanks for doing so much cool stuff, PDX Pipeline!
My first pint in a pub was a stout at the tender age of 20 (it was legal, I promise): an imperial pint of Guinness, in Ireland. Stouts and porters have been favorites since, and this stout sounds particularly amazing (and like it’d blow that Guinness out of the water, especially with that food. Delicious.)
I would like to attend because I love East Burn and have met a great guy whom I’d love to take here for our third date!
I love beer more than I like most people I know! And this one sounds amazing! I want to go!
Thanks for keeping us up to speed on all the best brewery-vents PDXPipeline – East Burn is quickly becoming my favorite spot to try all of the best new beers!
This would make up for not taking my sweetie out on V-day because we were too broke.
I’ve never tried a sweet potato blini with pork tenderloin before
I have been looking for a reason to go back to East Burn and this event sounds like just the right occasion and you can’t go wrong with stout! Win-win!
I would like to leave a comment that wins, but I just realized this tasting is for beer and not bourbon! I am a big fan and supporter of oregon beers…just enjoy local spirits as well.
I would soo love this! This will be my boyfriend’s first day off in 2 weeks & he LOVES stout! Even better if it’s bourbon-barrel aged!Life & schedules have been insane, so we could both use some fun…with Skee-Ball even!
Mmmm…beer! Would make my bf’s week if our broke arses could get out of the house! Please :-)
Please, please, please pick me! I would love to go to this. Of all the free tickets you’re giving out this would be the best.
Bourbon Stout,
it makes me shout,
“I sure need a fun night out!”
I missed “V.D.”
‘Cause my man’s at sea,
making some cash
for rent with me.
You’re not fakin’-
Are they really makin’
Chocolate bacon?
If that is so,
I’ve GOT to go.
Pipeline will you make it flow?
This would be fun
sign me up….would love free tickets.thanks
when i drink stout, i’m happy as a trout! pick me, please. and thank you.
It’s interesting to see that, out of all the ticket giveaways PDX Pipeline throws out to Portlanders, the most popular are always the ones involving alcohol.
Are we a city of freaks? Yes. Alcohol freaks? Definitely.
I have toured many a bourbon facility in Kentucky and considered buying one of their used casks simply to store in my kitchen for its aromatic discharge. And though most alcohol these days gives me an allergic reaction of taking my feet itchy, my love of stouts rules out.
I’m a beer brewer and reviewer, fanatic, promoter and enthusiast. I’m a fan of Full Sail and an ever bigger fan of Bourbon Barrel beers. I freakin’ love East Burn.
That being said, there is NO ONE who will enjoy those free tickets more than myself (and my lady friend). Seriously.
Thanks!
I would like tickets because frankly I loooooooooove Bourbon!
I would love the tickets because I am a beer geek and trying bourbon-barrel aged anything sounds absolutely delicious.
Eastburn simply is the best bar in Portland.
After working 60 hrs/week they let me go last thursday for not working hard enough. I could really use a pick me up!
yes, sign me up…..thnx cheers!!
Yes, please and thank you!
OMG another great beer event. I love living in Portland, and would love to win tickets!
This would be awesome to win, and nice surprise for beer-loving partner too! Thanks for putting this on!
The 2011 version is great – I would love to take part in this tasting!
I love Full Sail and stouts. Aged in a barrel = divine!
