Big Sip Oregon is an event for anyone who is interested in finding the best wine at great values. You'll be able to talk directly with over 30 winery operators and other leaders in the industry as you navigate a floor filled with delicious wines. Admission includes 15 drink tickets and access to the cheese bar. Sample and taste over 100 different wines and learn the best way to buy, savor and save your wine from industry experts.
Each winery has hand picked wines that they feel are exceptional wine buys – ones you likely won't find in stores or wine shops, but ones that they believe are so competitively priced you won't be able to resist the value.
There will be Live music by Portland's Piano Man, Jim Fischer, near the “food court”, which will act as a place to sit, relax and chat with friends! Educational sessions on topics such as wine traits, shelf life and care will also be available.
Participating wineries include: The Pines, Edenvale Estate Winery, Antigal, Dry Hollow Vineyard, Airfield Estate, AlexiEli Vineyard & Winery, Canas Feast Winery, Stangeland Vineyards & Winery, Hawkins Cellars, and QuailHurst Vineyard Estates, among many others.

March 1, 2011 at 14:37
I would love to attend Big Sip Oregon 2011 so that I can experience the various wines for which Oregon is famous. I was never that great at discerning good wines until I moved to OR and now I would love to experience what other wines are available than those I’ve tried before.
Thanks!

March 1, 2011 at 14:54
I just got a new job that requires me to know more about wines! not to mention I am italian and my blood is probably made up of a variety of wines;) on top of that all, cheese is my favorite food-in any form and I would be the happiest girl in Portland to be able to attend this event!
March 1, 2011 at 14:59
Wine, cheese, having fun on a Saturday–these are a few of my favorite things!
March 1, 2011 at 15:02
My BF and I love trying new wines, especially locally made labels. It would be such a treat to be able to attend a tasting with such a wonderful variety of wines as well as seminars to learn more about them.
March 1, 2011 at 15:13
As a new Stumptown resident, I’m interested in learning about and connecting with local wine producers. Also, my girlfriends from MT and CO are visiting this weekend. We would love to attend this event!!
March 1, 2011 at 15:14
I am very, very cranky. This event could possibly de-crank me. I doubt it, my friends doubt it, my mother doubts it and you doubt it, but it is possible. Now, please, do not ask how my ‘day is going.’ Blech.
March 1, 2011 at 15:38
I’m a problem drinker. But I wouldn’t have any problem at all using 15 tasting tickets! Wine, cheese and music are three of my favorite things. Let me win so I can enjoy all three of the at once.
March 1, 2011 at 16:15
I would love to take my best friend that just turned 30, whose birthday didn’t turn out as great as she would have hoped for and this would be a great redo for her to enjoy
March 1, 2011 at 17:19
Our kid will be away this weekend and this is one of those events that we pass up because of having a kid. I hope to win tickets to have a great kid-less weekend!
March 1, 2011 at 17:22
I need to get OUT! Please help meeee.
March 1, 2011 at 17:36
The organizers have chosen a great selection of wineries. Since I’m always interested in finding great value wines, the Big Sip is a great way to find out about these wines. After all, anybody can buy an excellent $50 bottle of wine, but you have to know what you’re doing to find an excellent $20 bottle of wine. I’m also very interested in the educational sessions, particularly wine care and storage.
March 1, 2011 at 18:31
Red wine is good for my soul…
March 1, 2011 at 18:53
I would love to attend this event because I am a young wine connoisseur, who loves to sip & learn, just got off antibiotics from a surgery that didn’t let me enjoy any wine for two months….and because Saturday is my Birthday!
March 1, 2011 at 20:30
We would love to attend–we have a nano brewery and are always learning how to market our product from our wine producing friends.
March 2, 2011 at 03:59
I’d love to talk directly with over 30 winery operators at the Big Sip Oregon.
Thanks
March 2, 2011 at 08:35
Oh Snap! Dude, this looks awesome yo! …is what I would say if I wasn’t so sophisticated. But no, the wine and cheese world is my oyster, and this event is a priceless pearl. ‘Twould be an honour to attend.
March 2, 2011 at 09:39
What better way to entertain an out of town guest from France. Show him the great wines from the Northwest! Pick-me! I need some boasting rights.
March 2, 2011 at 13:29
I am a wine enthusiast. The passion for the fermented grape fills my soul with pure delight! Passes to this event would be loved deeply. I also craft my own cheese.
March 2, 2011 at 13:32
My restaurant has been looking to switch up our wine selection, this may be a good reason to look for some new stuff. Exciting, would love to go.
March 2, 2011 at 14:46
I would love to try some Northwest wines- remember the subtle differences between a couple of them and then throw those tidbits of knowledge into the air at the next job interview…get the job..be able to then afford to buy some the of wines that I learned about with my tip money…
March 2, 2011 at 15:15
I would love to attend because it would be such a fun way to learn more about wine in general and to discover some awesome local wines to add to my cellar and bust out at dinner parties!!
March 2, 2011 at 16:12
This event sounds amazing, I hope I win tickets.. I could really use a night out..
March 2, 2011 at 16:20
This event would give me an excuse to use fancy words like bouquet and sommelier…I think I’ll even break out my go to comment: “this wine has nice long legs and a smoking hot body.” That’s the right lingo…right?
March 2, 2011 at 19:04
I would love to take my wife to this, we go out wine tasting a lot, but doing this would bring the wine tasting to us.
March 2, 2011 at 20:38

March 3, 2011 at 10:53
Tickets to Big Sip Oregon? Reason:
“Wine cheers the sad, revives the old, inspires the young, makes weariness forget his toil.” — Lord Byron
March 3, 2011 at 11:08
I’m tired of being a wine moron. I need some sophistication, or at least learn some words that will make me seem like I know what I’m talking about….
March 3, 2011 at 11:37
Okay, I thought I’d be happy telling everyone I’m 49 and holding, since next month I turn 50…then I get AARP sending me a membership card in the mail, welcoming me into the 50 and over group. I was doing fine until the mail lady delivers me undeniable news that I’m getting OLD. So delicately drowning in vino this weekend sounds like a great plan and I can soothe my soul with the fact that I will grow better with age, just like the grapes I am guzzling.
Weekend remedy: Da Big Sip!

Can I have the tickets please??? This sounds like the perfect opportunity to do some ‘research’ for our wedding. We hope to showcase a few local wines for our guests and I’m sure we’d be able to make some great finds at this event that we might not otherwise know about or be able to afford.

I’m a long-time wine enthusiast. There’s no other substance that has been more thoroughly developed, preserved, recorded historically, and appreciated. From poetry and drama, to simple family traditions, wine marks any occasion as truly special. Who hasn’t raised their glass in a toast to cherished friends, memories, or future hopes and dreams? It’s like the good friend that you drink!
March 4, 2011 at 16:15
I’m new to Portland, Oregon and joined the first wine club I discovered whom is not on your list of vendors. (Not sure if I should share the name). As it turns out, they are having a member party that same evening. I’d like to discover and support other Oregon wineries. This event poses the perfect opportunity. Please pick me and I will gladly share my discovery with your readers.
Thanks for the chance…
