Join PORTLAND SATURDAY MARKET, March 5 & 6, 2011 for the official opening of the 2011 season. PSM has celebrated arts & crafts in the Pacific Northwest for 38 years.
Unlike most outdoor Market's, PSM operates 10 months out of the year from March until Christmas Eve. Since the Market moved into Waterfront Park in May of 2009 membership has increased by 111 new artisans. The majority of these artisans are from the Pacific Northwest but, also include artisans from across the nation.
Show your support of artists and your local economy and join us for a two-day celebration, which includes:
- 5 Daily give-a-ways of $25.00 gift cards
- 2 Grand Prize gift baskets, which include four tickets to Portland's Lan Su Chinese Garden at NW 3rd & Everett, a $100.00 gift card and other fine crafted goodies from the Market!
- 2 days of Main Stage entertainment serving up local music with the likes of The Fenbi International Superstars (http://www.myspace.com/fenbi), Student Loan, Jason Oattis and the Cardboard Songsters.
- 2 days of Kid's Activities, featuring Janet Julian teaching children and their families how to create musical instruments out of recycled materials.
- Kid's Parade at 2 PM through the Market both Saturday and Sunday. Circus Artemis will lead the kid's parade each day with their stilt walkers, jugglers and musicians.
- 21 Food Carts featuring original recipes of local favorites like Horn of Africa's Vegetarian Sambusa's, Old Town Burgers' Chili Dogs or Katmandu Cafes' Chicken Vindaloo.
- 200+ talented artisans selling their original handcrafted wares.
