MANY Portland First Thursday Art Openings & Events | NW, SW, Pearl, Old Town, China Town
March 2, 2011 — PDXPIPELINE
Portland's monthly First Thursday event is tomorrow! It will be a little wet and cold, but you are probably used to that by now. So put on pullover and have some fun. There are over 50 (probably 100) galleries having openings this month.
We have a very large list below thanks to Sequential Art Gallery (328 NW Broadway) & Rich Vail Mackin. They compile an email called the "[h]IT LIST" of events every month. You can join it by emailing them @ sequentialart @ gmail dot com. We have reproduced much of it below with permission.

MANY Portland First Thursday Art Events———————————————-
ART NOT TO BE MISSED…
Work (including a new mural) by Steven Lopez: work by Brian “Tazroc” Garcia; live painting by Kauz; Music by Matt Nelkin, DJ Wicked, and Sknny Mrcls; B-Boy demo by DC5. All at Backspace, 115 NW 5th St.
Steven Lopez's work has been featured with Coachella, United Way, and lots of companies. Noted celebrities that have worked with him include Erykah Badu, Akon and Jill Scott.. He has also made appearances on Fuel TV, BBC and the Discovery Channel. Tazroc's work has been featured in movies and music videos.
Backspace, of course, is one of Portland's greatest cultural assets, hosting all-ages music, art, and events; serving caffeinated joy or all sorts, food and treats, and beer; providing wifi and computers…and bathrooms…to Portland's creative class for as long as anyone I know can remember.
