why I like Laurelwood in three words: “Moose And Squirrel”
March 9, 2011 at 18:48
I’m a big fan of Laurelwood beers and I’d love to rock one of their T-shirts and hats, drink their beer from one of their specialty glasses, open a beer with a genuine Laurelwood bottle opener, and use their gift card to buy more beer.
March 9, 2011 at 21:04
At Laurelwood at least once a week, (live really close) and really think they have some of the best, most agreeable beer around. Would love to join them for a celebration.
March 9, 2011 at 21:55
I would love to win a Laurelwood swag bag because they are one of the BEST breweries in Portland, and that is saying a LOT. My favorite beer of theirs is the Vinter Varmer seasonal. It’s like drinking Christmas!

The only thing better than an Imperial IPA is a Laurelwood Imperial IPA. The only thing better than a Laurelwood Imperial IPA is drinking it with free swaq!!!

March 10, 2011 at 15:29
An organic love story:
Ten years ago I left the Portland as a high school grad, never having heard the word “treehugger.”
Four years later I returned from Bellingham where I got a college degree and hugged a few trees. I LIKED being a TREEHUGGER and hanging with my TREEHUGGER friends.
About five years after my return to Portland, I stepped into LAURELWOOD for the first time and ordered my favorite type of beer, a porter. It was at that moment I fell in LOVE with the TREEHUGGER. I love it so much I have never even thought of trying to get to know any other Laurelwood beer.
That said, a $10 gift card and glass might be the incentive to try something new and to hopefully fall in love with the rest of the Laurelwood family!
March 10, 2011 at 15:31

I LOVE Laurelwood beers, especially the Vanilla porter and the Red. I even live close to the brewery but my crappy student loan budget doesn’t allow for much beer consumption. I would love to be able to partake in the celebrations.

March 10, 2011 at 16:16
Laurelwood makes going out for a beer and awesome food and being a parent with toddler and baby in tow live in harmony. The staff there is amazing. My 3 year old calls it the kitchen place because of the play kitchen.
March 10, 2011 at 16:19
I love the ‘samplers’ that they serve at their location near the 23rd. They’re the cutest way to get drunk. :)
March 10, 2011 at 16:26
I’m cheap. Free is the only way I take my wife out these days. Hook her up, she deserves it.
March 10, 2011 at 16:28
Laurelwood has great beer & food & uses local, organic free-range, grass-fed ingredients in most everything they make.
March 10, 2011 at 16:31
The 1st best thing is the beer. The 2nd best is the kid containment area.
March 10, 2011 at 16:41

March 10, 2011 at 16:47
Laurelwood Red is one of my favorite beers. I try to patronizes places that carry it but always know I can go to brewery if needed. :~)
March 10, 2011 at 16:50
I love Laurelwood because they saved me during my last term of Spanish. Class was exponentially more enjoyable/tolerable after a Laurelwood happy hour under my belt! Laurelwood Rocks. I want to win because a. they are awesome in every way and b. now that class is over and I’m not going for happy hour every week I need little more Laurelwood in my life!

March 10, 2011 at 17:15
Laurelwood has great beers (Laurelwood Free Range Red, anyone?) and the most friendly and awesome master brewer. We <3 Chad!
March 10, 2011 at 17:17
for such a fine establishment, Laurelwood Brewery does not ‘rest on its laurels’ but rather compels itself to ooh and ahh us with “The Big O†Organic Pale Ale.
March 10, 2011 at 17:45
I have never been, but I love beer and roasted pigs. Especially together.
March 10, 2011 at 17:48
Laurelwood Free Range Red is amazing! Great company, great food and they represent craft brewing in PDX properly. I wanna get a big ole keg of the red stuff for my garage…and a t-shirt/bottle opener. PDX Pipeline, you love me, I love you!
March 10, 2011 at 17:49
I am thus far unfamiliar with Laurelwood, which makes me just the kind of person Laurelwood wants to win something like this, so I’ll have a reason to try and add them to the list of local breweries I look for and support. Because I will!
March 10, 2011 at 18:18
PIIIIIGS!! I love pigs!!! Put them in my face.
March 10, 2011 at 18:23
I have a soft spot for this place for making a 3-hour layover I had at the airport . The waiter couldn’t find me (forgot I was sitting at the bar) to hand off a basket of garlic fries, and when I asked about them 20-some minutes later, I ended up getting a free meal. Thanks, Laurelwood. I’ve been meaning to check you out under better circumstances and the gift card(s) would be just the prompt.
March 10, 2011 at 18:31
It’s beer, I’m in love! Laurelwood Brewery, you rock!
March 10, 2011 at 18:33

LOVE Laurelwood because their food is consistently deeeeeeeeelicious!!!! Oh and you can’t go wrong with the beer! My husband and I have had some very great date nights at Laurelwood! And we LOVE and support that the food is local and sustainable. The sun porch isn’t too shabby either!
March 10, 2011 at 19:07
I like beer. Laurelwood makes beer. Therefore, I like laurelwood.

March 10, 2011 at 20:33
Great pub-style atmosphere for parents to chill with their (well behaved) kids mid-day. Great beer and such nice folks behind the bar.
March 10, 2011 at 20:59
Me: This IPA is really, really good.
Bartender: It was rated the best IPA in the nation in a 2009 competition.
Me: !
I am so sad the NW location closed. :(
March 10, 2011 at 21:12
Have spent many quality hours in the Hollywood location. Bohemian bellydancers and beer is a great combination. I want to win for my husband, because I love him.
Congratulations Laurelwood!
March 10, 2011 at 21:16
I love Laurelwood beer, all of them really. But I would gift this swag bag to a great friend in Seattle that loves Laurelwood and doesn’t get it as often as I can.

March 10, 2011 at 22:45
Laurelwood has the best food/drink/people. Laurelwood = #winning
March 10, 2011 at 23:47
…because a Laurelwood Red will be the perfect cure for my post Patty’s birthday hangover!
March 11, 2011 at 02:04
Laurelwood makes a wicked red, which surely is best enjoyed specially opened by a laurelwood bottle opener and poured into a laurelwood glass and enjoyed by a laurelwood hat- and shirt-wearing Lara.
March 11, 2011 at 07:40
GIVE ME BEER AND I’LL KISS YOU ALL OVER FOR A DIME!
March 11, 2011 at 08:13
I love Laurelwood, because Mike DeKalb and Christian Ettinger developed one of the FIRST editions of organic beers in Beervana. They set a standard for brewing excellence that made the rest of the nation wake up to craft beer. Who would have guessed that Chad Kennedy & Crew would actually take that reputation and rocket it thru the stratosphere. While the regular rotation is top-notch, it’s the seasonals and special batches that truly set them apart: Espresso Stout (one of the first “coffee” beers), Elvis Special Brew, Moose & Squirrel, Green Mammoth, Framboise, etc. If you haven’t gone in lately, hit the party and look at ALL the GABF and national/international awards Chad has received. With that in mind, why wouldn’t I want to win the “swag bag”: I am been a patron since they opened, and would love the swag so I can continue to advertise the greatness of LWB…wherever I go.
March 11, 2011 at 08:57
beer. cool.
March 11, 2011 at 09:41
the beer and the fries are both amazing!
March 11, 2011 at 10:19
Laurelwood is a wonderful tree and offers plenty of shade. Since I drank some crappy foreign beer, I obviously don’t know what the heck is going on, and winning something great ought to set me straight.
March 11, 2011 at 10:56
I love Laurelwood because Workhorse IPA is my favorite IPA! My boyfriend and I love the garlic fries. I can always tell when he has gone there without me because I can smell the garlic fries on him as soon as he gets home!
March 11, 2011 at 11:07
Great atmosphere and great food!
March 11, 2011 at 11:39
They have great beer, I’d love some swag!
March 11, 2011 at 11:40
Beer, Food, Fun, what’s not to love.
This would be a great night out for me. I’m a new mom that has been stuck inside my house for the last 5 weeks
March 11, 2011 at 12:53

March 11, 2011 at 19:35
Ive been there once with my coworkers and it was pretty awesome. I won’t sugar coat this thought, I totally had my backpack stolen this last week and my wallet was in it. I wont be able to access my bank account, (no id or debit card) until my temporary drivers license comes in the mail. (just moved here from ak) SO I have 2$ to my name until then, and boy.. I sure could use a beer..
March 11, 2011 at 21:54

March 13, 2011 at 21:29
artichoke dip is hands down the best!
March 14, 2011 at 09:31
Been going to the Laurelwood with the hubby since it opened – only wish they made gluten free beer now since I was diagnosed as allergic!!! It’s so hard to find good GF beer.
March 14, 2011 at 11:11
Laurelwood consistently makes some of the best beers around. Workhorse is such a great beer that I have to force myself to try others when I am there. And their garlic fries are the best I’ve had!
March 14, 2011 at 11:12
A big shout out to the Battle Ground Laurelwood! But really, who couldn’t love a place that has a squirrel on the bottle?
March 14, 2011 at 11:22
Got kegs of Laurelwood for my Wedding. Keep spreading the love with some freebies for me!
March 14, 2011 at 11:39
Best Beer in the world and an incredible place to enjoy great food while our kids can play!! Our home keg-orator is always home to a keg of Workhorse!!!
March 14, 2011 at 11:55
My family moved here 5 years ago from Ohio, and this was the first restaurant we visited. Having 3 small children, it was often challenging to find a restaurant where kids were welcome AND the food was good. We got a bonus with the Laurelwood since the beer was also fantastic! Five years later and it’s still our favorite Portland restaurant, and my husband frequents just to fill his growlers!
March 14, 2011 at 12:17
I already have a collection of clothing from one of my favorite breweries on Earth and would love some more so I can do even MORE to spread the word! Happy anniversary, Laurelwood!!!
March 14, 2011 at 12:20
Laurelwood is one of my favorite places to get a beer/food not only for the great selection of year round beers and the variety of seasonal beers, but for the wonderful service that they provide each time I come in. I would love to win the package to wear some Laurelwood gear around and who couldn’t use a laurelwood bottle opener.
March 14, 2011 at 14:01
I love the Laurelwood pub. The beer is good and the service is fantastic! I would love to sport some new gear this spring!
March 14, 2011 at 14:15
Hooligan!!!! Love me some Laurelwood. Great beer, food, and family friendly atmosphere :)
March 14, 2011 at 15:34
I would like to win because we had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding at Laurelwood so it holds a special place in my heart!! Would love to go back!
March 14, 2011 at 17:00
My favorite place to stop for happy hour after hiking. Love the free range red.
March 14, 2011 at 19:27
Love the staff, the beer, the food, so glad we’ve found you!
March 15, 2011 at 04:24
For the beer of course! My fave is the Workhorse and I love your BG place.
March 17, 2011 at 15:17
Beer, glorious beer. That is all.
March 17, 2011 at 16:30
I think it is the awesome that great beer does not come with crappy food here…great beer, good food, friendly all around…WINNER!!!
March 17, 2011 at 18:07
I love Laurelwood because they brew incredibly good beer. I love them because their pubs are family-friendly. And, I love them because they opened up a brewpub in Battle Ground, Washington, so those of us who live in Clark County don’t have to trek across the river if we don’t feel like it! I want to win because I need a new beer shirt, and because the gift card would come in handy.
March 17, 2011 at 18:09
Just realized the contest is already over. I am a dumbass. Thanks.
March 17, 2011 at 21:27
I am a huge fan of Laurelwood

March 18, 2011 at 10:49
I love legos.
March 18, 2011 at 13:27
Laurelwood showcases some of the BEST of Oregon’s craft beer. But they offer so much more–solid food that surpasses pub grub, a nice atmosphere and a really good staff. Cheers, Laurelwood, and hoppy anniversary!
January 2, 2012 at 13:19
