We are hosting our one year anniversary of Refuge the weekend of April 15th and 16th with a live show by Danish producer TRENTEMØLLER. This is his first Oregon appearance and he is on a very limited US tour. He will be playing at Coachella two days after this show and we are honored to host a very special show for him. Trentmoller will be traveling with opener Dorit Chrysler, a very renowned Theremin player. Doors are at 8 p.m.
About Trentemoller:
Copenhagen based Danish producer and multi instrumentalist Trentemoller started out with a number of yet classic single productions. In February 2005 Berlin producer and DJ Steve Bug released the Trentemøller 12-inch ¬ËœPhysical Fraction' on his brand new label Audiomatique. It became one of the summer anthems of 2005 and was followed by three releases on Bug's main label Poker Flat: ¬ËœPolar Shift', ¬ËœSunstroke' and ¬ËœNam Nam'. Trentemøller's fresh sound and quality production gave a new twist to the upcoming minimal techno-sound and consolidated his reputation as one of the most interesting producers of the year.
In 2009 followed Trentemøller's remix for the first single of the new Depeche Mode album ¬ËœSounds Of The Universe'. ¬ËœWrong' was released on the official remix EP in April 2009. The Trentemøller remix for Franz Ferdinand¬Ëœs¬Å¡ No You Girls¬Ëœ was released in 2009 and has been nominated for a US Grammy award. And now, in 2010, there's ¬ËœInto The Great Wide Yonder', Trentemøller's second artist album. The follow up of ¬ËœThe Last Resort' shows an artist that's willing to take risks, find inspiration in new places and move beyond the sound of his previous album.
About Dorit Chrysler:

I want to see Trentemoller because everyone has music that is like food for their soul, and his is mine. “Wrong” and the Moby remix “Go” are amazing and I’ve been listening to “Into the Great Wide Yonder” for a few months straight now. I’d love to see him before Coachella which I can’t afford to see (again!). Thanks!!!

Cool, I’ve heard a lot about this, maybe winning tickets to the show will give me a reason to finally check it out. Seems like a good score for Soul’d Out, considering how few shows in the US. Very cool.

I’m Danish! And I love theremins! I don’t get to see enough Danish musicians or theremins. My best friend and I are going out that night to celebrate some big news, and this would be a fun addition to the night!

I have become such a grouchy old geezer! I haven’t gone out to see any interesting live music in years. I would love to have an excuse to drive down to Portland and pretend I wasn’t a groucy old geezer for a few hours.

Wow, a chance to watch Trentemoller perform live?!! I thought this day would never come. From the song Forest, to Kink, and then Gush, Trentemoller has made unique stuff. Late night cab driving, and I wish (malou) remix, this type of music has found its niche. En fin, anything that Trentemoller touches becomes the best mixture of sounds. I’d love this opportunity to watch Anders Trentemoller live and enjoy it to the fullest.
Thanks

Wow! I am so excited about this Friday! The Soul’Dout Festival line up is amazing. Good job, Portland. Can’t wait to feel the beats and bass of trentemoller pulse through my veins, and feed off the energy of the other dancers. Thanks so much for this opportunity.

It would be amazing to see Trenmoller this weekend…his music will definitely vibe the party in a good way. More than that, I would love to go to a show at Refuge as I haven’t been there yet and have heard great things!
Thanks for the chance to win tickets~

A friend of mine told me about this band and I have since really enjoyed listening while I study: perfect amount of stimulus and nonvocal. He is also the featured artist for this show, I would like to come and show
My support for both these artists but buying a ticket for both myself and my girlfriend is too costly for my megar student financing. So I ask you this: please? Thanks ;D
April 14, 2011 at 17:21
Copenhagen should be Portland’s twin city! TRENTEMØLLER’s contribution will reinforce that. Tickets would be a wonderful way to travel not so far!
April 14, 2011 at 17:28
I love the Danes! And “O’s” that look like they should be zeroes! And kick-ass beats! Do I need more reasons to wanna go??
April 14, 2011 at 20:06
I wake up early every weekend to feed breakfast to the hungover masses. Often I have said that I feel like my job, whereas it keeps me from going out on weekend nights, is akin to paying forward a cosmic karmic debt. Not doing anything fabulous on the weekends, when all of the biggest and brightest things seem to happen, has left me sickly, shabby, and droll.
The sweet rhythm and texture of well-crafted electronic music is my sanctuary, and though I have loved Trentemoller for years, I have never had occasion to bear witness to the spectacle.
If selected to attend this show, I will be so excited that I promise make EVERYBODY’S time better, before, during, and after.
April 14, 2011 at 20:29
I want to have Trentemoller’s baby!
April 15, 2011 at 15:08
PLEASE save my soul! This rain is drowning it! Promise, I will wear cute clothes and be friendly to everyone. One re-energized girl=sunshine for all.

LOVE Trentmoller.
LOVE Refuge.
Plus, a theremin player? whoa.
Haven’t danced my butt off in waay too long!
This could make my year.

I am a certified card-carrying electro head and Trentemoller is so so great. Should I win tickets, I, Roger, do solemnly swear to dance my caboose off and stick it to those head-nodders.
