Due to the sheer, unrelenting demand of the masses, Hot 8 Brass Band has added another show while in town for the festival. They had such a good time at the Black Joe Lewis show they decided they wanted to give Sinferno another shot this Sunday night. Hot 8 will be sitting in as house band for the weekly event at Dante’s, flying in direct following their Coachella appearance.
Formed in 1995, Hot 8 blends elements of Hip Hop, R&B, Funk & Jazz in their booming brass sound. Longtime regulars on the NOLA circuit, appearing at countless second lines over the years, as well being a fixture at all major regional festivals —New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Voodoo Fest, Zulu Festival. In the past few years, Hot 8 has taken their show abroad, appearing in Japan, France, Germany, Italy & Finland, to name a few, and have recently been added as support for Ms. Lauryn Hill‘s major national comeback tour.

Breakestra is one of the young lions of the ongoing international Soul revival. Hailing from Los Angeles, Breakestra have developed a slick, yet still somehow gritty, blend of Funk, Hip-Hop, & Soul—collaborating with the likes of Thievery Corporation, Digable Planets, Jurassic 5 and the late, great Guru along the way. Whether backing the legends of Hip Hop and Soul, or delving deep into one of their heady instrumental originals—Breakestra brings the heat.

Ellis Marsalis was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana—picking up the tenor saxophone as a young boy, then shifting over to piano in high school. Marsalis cut his own path in the burgeoning Jazz landscape of the time by not locking himself into the stylings of Dixieland or Rhytham & Blues, instead forging his own path with other luminaries such as David “Fathead” Newman, Al Hirt and Cannonball Adderly.
Though he has appeared on countless albums over the years, with nearly twenty to his own credit, Marsalis is maybe best known now for his committment to teaching and progressing the philosophy of Jazz music, as well as rearing his own crew of legendary sons: Delfeayo, Jason, Wynton & Branford.

My boyfriend used germ X hand sanitizer to masterbate and now has a really bad infection. The irony behind it is astounding. If I won tickets I would tell him I submitted a funny short story on his situation and won them because he is such an idiot. Just to make him feel better.
